I found this encouraging from the latest Guilbeau article (LINK) :

Jefferson has also shown some savvy at the line of scrimmage before the play. In the first quarter Saturday, an intermediate route was called to wide receiver Brandon LaFell. But Jefferson noticed the cornerback was in man-to-man coverage without safety help. He changed the play and threw a quick screen to LaFell, who easily faked out the cornerback and sprinted 16 yards for a touchdown.

"It was pitch and catch," LaFell said. "I think that shows how much Jordan is growing up. That was not something we could have done last year. Jordan knows his receivers now and knows what he's doing. Jordan is learning a lot very quickly and knows a lot more than he did even in the Washington game."

He's progressing well, I think. He can read the field well and avoids forcing the ball into coverage. He hasn't put up great numbers so far, but I'm impressed with his savvy on the field and his 5-1 ratio. Let's see what can happen when he has the time to make his drop and if he can improve on the deep ball.

JJ will leave as one of the top 5 QB's LSU has ever had.

When it starts to click for him and he gets some more confidence, watch out. I think it will happen before the end of this season. 2010 and 2011 will be exciting years.

It says a lot when other players are this complimentary about each other. There is a lot of unity on this team.

Everyone is making such a big deal about the deep ball. There are plenty of teams that score plenty of points that don't throw the ball past 30 yards much. If you can have a good running game and get first downs, that is the biggest key.

Yeh, but has Bill Withers come to them to sing about it yet?

As far as I'm concerned, if we have to throw the ball that deep more than 2-3 times a game, it can only be a sign of bad things that have happened in that game. I'm an old soul with football that would rather run the ball down an opponent's throats for 300 yards and pass for 100 than the other way around. It's less exciting to watch, but it's also much more impressive.

Slow release, inaccuracy if target is moving, inaccurate if pass is >20 yds, and gigantic windup.

He can be a good QB, maybe even as good as Mauck or Tyler, but not great.

He's got a strong arm. Long release but it's worlds better than it was last season.

He seems calm out there to me He does like to pull it down and run if his 1,2 receivers aren't open.

So far so good
