Try Philadelphia, MS casino's pearlriverresort.com
I'm sure the hotels are book.

There's a Hilton Garden Inn in Philadelphia a quarter mile from the casino.

Hotel direct line: 601-389-6600

I actually stayed in Columbus the last time. It's on the far side of Starkville from Louisiana (+20 miles or so), so it might not be convenient. I live in Atlanta, so it was fine for me.

I'm staying in Eupora @ the CreekSide Inn. Nothing special but it's 20-30mins West of Starkville if you come from I-55 and take the Winona Exit East. Just a place to crash Friday night before heading into Stark early AM. I got the Room for $55.00 with 2 double beds.

Also, most everywhere I called was booked up or expensive. I could have went into Columbus for the same price, but I didn't want to drive past Starkville Friday night then back to Starkville Saturday. Phili and Louville had rooms.

The best thing you can do is go to Google Maps search hotels near Starkville, MS ... move the map around and find hotels by the red dots and call them. Don't be afraid to ask for a better price.

when I went up to the Auburn / MSU game last year in Starkville that is where my wife and I stayed, the Days Inn in Kosciusko. The place was fine...clean...comfy bed...that is really all we needed.

The funny thing was we did not pull up there until about 11:45 p.m....and I guess that late you have to check in through the glass....anyway, I had to wait in line behind a 6'5, 300lb, black, transvestite to check in....my wife waited in the car and was, needless to stay, not very enthused about where we were staying for the night,.,.
