Baseball Scholarships Question

Do any players at LSU get full rides?

no, when you only have 11.7 to give out it would mae zero sense to give any player a full scholarship.

It's basically the same number for lacrosse and they definitely don't divide it up equally. I have no idea what they with the LSU baseball team, but the non-Ivy lacrosse teams definitely don't divide it up equally among all players.
No one gets a full ride (except a 4 year All-American type like Matt Danowski), but some guys get half off, while less touted guys get about 1/4.

new rules - everyone that gets a scholarship has to get at least 1/3

Is that just for baseball? Very interesting change.

Coleman got 100% last year which was the deciding factor for him coming back. He definitely earned it but he's the only one I've ever heard of.

I meant for the non-revenue sports. I know teams gave differing amounts of partial scholarships up until 2008 for sure in lacrosse, field hockey, and those kinds of sports.

one thing that sucks is that baseball has been reclassified as a revenue sport when it comes to transfers (as in now they have to sit a year when they used to not have to) but they still don't get enough full schollys to field a team.

Which sports are now classified as revenue sports besides men's basketball, baseball, and football?
I would guess men's hockey and women's basketball. It would be pretty unfair for any other sport.
I agree with you about baseball scholarships though. If they don't want every kid to go pro, they should increase it to 16 or 17.

Well, here's my take on this issue.
35 total roster spots....no more than 27 on scholarship...minimum scholarship % =25%. So, 8 players are invited walk-ons "possibly" working on other funding revenues, such as TOPS, academic, or other funds.
