Saints will find out next week Eagles are a good team even without McNabb starting.I mean it was the Lions for crying out loud.

It was the Lions true, but it is an NFL team so keep that in mind, they do have some talent and it was the first game of the season, so they were playin really hard especially since they haven't won a game in over a year.

FWIW, noone looked extremely overpowering besides the eagles this weekend. Teams that were expected to win convincingly (patriots, chargers) barely won with literally seconds to go and had breaks go their way. So, frick all the naysayers, give it a few more weeks. I think by the bye week, we should really know where we stand strenghwise.

Same Lions team that the Saints beat 42-7 last season pretty much. Starting a rookie QB in his first game.

The Lions allowed 40+ points 3 times last season
The Lions allowed 30+ points 8 times last season

Yes I know they brought in a few players here and there but they are still a bad team overall.

He said something to the effect that just a fancy offense won't fly come November. The chick said we were top 5 and he said maybe top 15. What a prick.

Keep in mind most of the points they scored were from stupid but fixable turnovers, sans the turnovers it would have been a rout.

It would be like pulling teeth for them because we are not a big T.V. market team and we don't have Favre or Vick or T.O. or.....

Hard is big on that dome teams in inclement weather thing... he ALWAYS talks about it.

They'll like us when we win.

a little harsh. Let the man have his own opinion. Leave it to the players to prove him right/wrong.

Sounds good coming from a guy who looks like he has never played a sport in his entire life! Look at the dude! I know Clayton isn't much better but at least he knows a lot about the game. I stopped listening to Cowherd when I heard him say that not one fan can hit a homerun in a major league ballpark given ten pitches with an aluminum bat! Dude is a joke!

I am curious to see if the D is legit or if the Lions are just that bad again this season. They looked good in holding Lions to I believe 253 total yards on offense.

I'm still surprised (I know I shouldn't be) how many sports journalists obviously don't even look at a box score for the games they don't watch.
