DirectTV added ESPNU and a few other channels to their basic package a few months ago. They didn't, however, inform their subscribers that I'm aware of.

What I don't understand is that ESPNU is supposedly available in HD.

I have Direct TV also but I can't find ESPNUHD on any of my channels.

it's not in HD, but sometimes the games are in HD and it will say HD on the broadcast but since the channel isn't HD its broadcasted in SD.

and i think they added like 2 weeks ago b/c i went to it right before the season started to see if i had to get the sports pack to get ESPNU and it wasn't on, but come first saturday of college football it was on.

Have Dish, and it wont let me add the U even though it says I can without calling in. I called and the Dish person says I have to go through the thirdparty provider here at our complex. Called them, now have to wait for technician to call because its the answering service.

I added the U on Dish during baseball. I just called and asked for it and it is like 5 dollars a month and you get those encore movie channels. BEWARE! I called dish last year and asked about the high-def package. All of my equipment is HD but I never added the extra channels and just used what was available. If I am lying I am Dying they told me they charge 10 dollars a month if you DON"T take the HD pkg and 7,50 a month if you DO. Of course, the agent can't even explain that stuff!

I would advise all DTV users to go through all of your channels about once a month to see what ya got. I frequently find something new.
