Are there any WWII monuments, museums or preserved battlefields in Okinawa? I'd love to see that place. Hugh Marines/Japanese battle there.

Not very many. There is Peace Park on the southen tip of the island. It contains memorials to both sides in the war. We pretty much bombed the southern part of the island back to the stone age. However, they have rebuilt most of the historic structures. They also have tours of the tunnels that Japanese used to defend the island. Interesting. "The Battle of Okinawa" is a good book about the fighting there. It recounts the battle from both American and Japanese viewpoints.

as mentioned earlier... peace park is the main one. there is also Himeyuri Monument and the former underground Navy HQ.

There are tons of tunnels here. There's also a former military hospital cave underneath the 10th hole at the banyan tree golf course here on Kadena.
