John Ferguson is the only "true voice of the Tigers". Hawthorne is a poorly made imitation.

I like Jim Hawthorne, He is the voice of the tigers to me, but i do remember Ferguson, he was my dads voice of the tigers, to each his own, in my dads days u didnt get many Tv Broadcasts, so people really depended on furguson to tell it like it was, and he did that better than Hawthorne

I grew up listening to John & Walter Hill. I was in the Air Force when I was stationed in CO in the '70s. Could pick up the Tigers on a 50,000 station out of Shreveport I think.

Those were the days.
