Just wanted to remind the morons that hate Miles and Love Saban, that Saban lost 16 games at LSU.

16. Not 0. Not 5. 16!

He only had 1 season with fewer than 3 losses. 1 season. 1 season in 5 with fewer than 3 loses.

He had a 5 loss season. He had a 4 loss season.

He lost games against unranked opponents with LSU heavily favored.

Sine he was not GOD, where do all of the idiots on the board get the ridiculous expectations. Do you know anything about LSU history? Doubtful as you seem to think Saban won every game.

Miles would have to lose 6 games this season just to match Saban's losses in his first 5 years at LSU.

16! Not 0. No, he actually did not walk on water.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Saban fan, but thats not a fair comparison. LSU wasn't all that great when Saban took over. Les had the advantage of having an already established National Championship winning team.

You know, if we were really that comfortable with Miles, posts like this wouldn't continue to be made.

I am actually not making a comparison.

I am pointing out that Saban did not win every game. Once again only 1 season with less than 3 losses.

I am pointing out that expectations of the rantards have never been met. They know nothing of LSU history.

I didn't break down a comparison. Simply mentioned Miles at the end.

Just pointing out the fact that Saban was not God.

He followed a good season with a 8-5 season.

Les is our coach. Love him!

can't compare the two, I don't know why y'all keep doing this shite. Saban took over a program he rebuilt, end of story. I will say coach Miles always has his teams prepared for bowl games unlike coach Saban.

Saban is great for building a program as he did for us and as he is doing at Bama. But over the long haul his intensity wears on players, coaches, boosters and fans alike. He will be at Bama for 4-5 more years and then he is gone. Miles is the perfect coach from a recruiting and maintenance standpoint.

Jeez... I like how I get called out just for saying its not a fair comparison. They might have got their "arse" handed to them (even though they lost 30-25 on a last minute play) but they won a BCS National Championship the year before. 8-5 is what we went last year, and look how bad everyone thinks it is now.

Tucco

I am not comparing the two. Can you read? One sentence in my post compared Miles vs Saban.

I simply pointed out the FACT that the Great Saban still lost 3 or more games in 4 of his 5 seasons at LSU.

There is no comparison in the title of my thread. I just point out he lost 16 games in 5 seasons. Where does the absurd arrogance and monumental expectations come from?

Yes I called you Tucco, since the breakig bad thread, I always read Tucco instead of your real name.

The title of the thread says it all. He lost 16 games.

He had 1 season with less than 3 losses.

He did not walk on water.

Not brain surgery. You guys want to knock miles and give Saban Sainthood. Well, Saint Nick lost 16 games over 5 seasons and he was actually inconsistent. Did he drastically improve LSU? Yes.

He also lost 5 games after a 10 win season. He also lost to UAB. He lost to Ole Miss. He lost to Arkansas. He lost games that we had NO reason to lose.

The arrogance of you rantards is not based on any actual history at LSU.

well, to be fair Saban inherited a 2-9 team with a loser attitude. Les inherited a team that won the BCS championship the year before.

I see your point, but you're comparing apples and oranges.

Just because some posters are critical of Miles and staff, doesn't mean they want Saban back. I remember that our fan base was very critical of some of Saban's decisions/playcalls/assistants etc... If we are not here to critique our team and its coaches, then why does this place exist? When we are no longer critical of our coaches... welcome to the 90's.

just remember we could have arnsparger who did not care about lsu or hallman that could recruit but could not coach or archer who could coach but not recruit. dinardo was underrated won 3 bowl games and brought respect back to lsu. saban is saban not a good guy but did what was expected. now we have a good guy who is a decent maybe great coach that wins all non conference games. his teams are more even keeled than sabans. go les we could do a lot worse

I don't put Saban on a pedestal so don't get me confused with the rest, I did mention how his bowl teams are always unprepared, even the NC game, but thankgod for the defense.
