In my opinion this kid was the best run blocker in the State last year. He was a 4 star prospect and the 4th best center in the nation according to rivals.com and was the only player I've seen hold his own against Chris Davenport at LSU's one day Camp, he was also o-line mvp of the camp. I've also seen him dominate Josh Downs of Bastrop, as his team moved him to center just to block downs, pancaking him several times and controlling the point of attack. I also watched him battle and hold his own against Derrington Sentimore of Destrehan for three years. My point is, I know the kid is a bit short for a offensive lineman at 6'2, but he is a good football player. He signed with Texas A&M and I hear good reports from his family, I think LSU lost out on a good prospect.

i don't know that height was the reason he wasn't offered. our starting center the last few years was 6'2" and our starting center this year will only be 6'3".

He was 6'2 on paper, he might've been shorter, but a good prospect none the less.

Helms also played at about 280 or 285, T-Bob and Lonergan are bigger than that, but they are also recruiting a TE to play center. They may just have thought that Lewis was too heavy to fit their profile at C.

I would like to see this guy be a tiger. He have held his own against some talented guys and this is the type of talent he would face daily in the SEC

i don't know why they didn't offer - all i'm saying is it wasn't due to height looking at our past and current C. C isn't a position where being tall is necessary.

Yeah, the coaches had every opportunity to evaluate him and it was something they disliked, maybe just the depth chart, LSU didn't sign a center prospect at all last year did they?

no, they had a T-Bob, who red shirted the year before, and Lonergan, who was redshirting. This year they have a guy committed that will have to add a lot of weight, but they won't need him for a while.

I thought Lonergan would win the starting job this year. I saw him play in high school his senior year, and he may have been the most dominaing run blocker I've ever seen on the high school level. The kid broke defenders will throughout the course of the game. By the third quarter they were running themselves out of the play!!!..

Miles signs the players he likes at his summer camps. He must have been close but no.
