From the Advocate -
Former LSU kicker suspected of DWI
By ADVOCATE STAFF REPORT
Published: Aug 30, 2009 - Page: 3B
Baton Rouge police arrested a former record-setting LSU placekicker early Saturday on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
Colt Justin David, 23, 3210 Wintergreen Terrace Drive, Grapevine, Texas, was booked into Parish Prison on counts of first-offense DWI, reckless operation of a vehicle and noise violation, booking records show.
David finished his LSU career last season as the school’s all-time leading scorer and one of the top kickers ever in the Southeastern Conference, with the most PATs and third-most points in league history. He originally came to the LSU Tigers as a walk-on.
David was a first-team All-SEC selection as a junior, while setting a school record for points and PATs in a season during LSU’s national-championship campaign, and was a second-team All-SEC choice in 2008.

this won't help to get him to the NFL if he still had a chance.

I agree this will not help but there are players in the NFL who have killed while driving drunk. Its a very forgiving league if you have the talent to contribute to a team.

Hopefully he can bounce back from this

Once again, bad news travels faster than good news. I bet if he had signed a contract with an NFL team and the ADVOCATE reported that in the paper, it would not have been reported on the Rant as early as this post was. Colt will be allright and maybe he will learn from this and get motivated even more.

If my memory is correct he didn't kickoff for LSU during his tenure. He is not in the NFL because he can not kick off. He didn't kick off at LSU and he won't kick off in the NFL. NFL kickers must be able to hit FGs and kickoff.

Why isn't he in the NFL?
