I seem to remember hearing that he didn't want to offer TrindonH and that an assistant or someone had to talk him into it.

Not really. Jimbo deserves credit for Trindon. But Miles wasn't against it.

I think the story is that the staff had to sell Saban on him. When Saban left, Jimbo had to then sell Miles on him.
