This guy and this show are full of epic amounts of bullshite.

1. He was in N. Alabama, probably near the Fort Payne area. He mentioned watching for alligators 3 or 4 times in the "swamp" area. Sorry Bear, no gators within 400 miles of that area.

2. He was probably never more than 5 miles away from a highway, yet pretended he was isolated.

3. He ate deer shite. Even said that old timers would do that. Not any old timers I've ever heard of. There are thousands of things you can eat in the Alabama woods before you would have to resort to deer shite.

4. He set up a simple snare trap to "catch a deer". Give me a friggin break. Even a spotted fawn could have gotten out of that. If he had been lucky enough to catch a deer, it would have beaten him to death with its hooves before he could have killed it with a knife.

5. He "found" a small wild hog that had been caught in a trap already. Then tackled it and killed it with a knife. Although there are a few wild hogs in Alabama, people don't set traps for them. They hunt them. Hogs are too smart for that crap.

He reminds me of what a 10 year old looks like playing in the woods and pretending he's on safari or something. It's just laughable.

Why didn't he take on the Tennsaw Delta in summer? That would be much more dangerous than North Alabama in winter.

Heck, the LA bayous would be more dangerous than either of those. Why the heck would you choose to "survive" in Alabama. There are thousands of more dangerous places in the U.S. that are way more isolated.

It was actually filmed close to a park called Little River Canyon. I've been there several times cliff jumping. No way in hell I get in that water in the winter time. I give him kudos for that alone.

I like the show but I thought this one was pretty lame. Although, there is no way I would go into those caves. It seemed like the show was too scripted. I also think he overreacted when they came upon the controlled burn.

400 miles is a long way. I get your point but are you sure on this one. Also I know of many people in AL who trap hogs. My experience is they are like coyotes. You might fool them with a trap the first time, if they make it out you can forget about getting a second chance with that one.

I grew up in Huntsville and I figured that must be where he was. I wanted to call bullshite on the alligators thing also. Plus, he mentioned that it hits sub zero sometimes and that never happened in the 15 years I lived there.

I think he liked the whole idea of the caves and the river. Besides that, Alabama isn't that "wild". No matter where you are, you can't walk more than 2-3 hours in any direction and find a road or a trailer park somewhere.

I also thought it was dumb that he got naked just to fetch a peice of trash then he hopped back into the river with all his clothes on.

His show is entertaining and I watch it with my kids, but I often find myself telling them not to do what he is doing.

Was he talking Celsius or Fahrenheit? Makes a little bit of a difference.

Also, to the OP, you must not mess with hogs much. Traps are the best way to catch them.

I am sure he meant celsius. O degrees celsius equals 32 Farenheit. 30 Degrees F equals -1 C.

The one where he catches a snake and bites it in the back and eats it raw while he has matches in his pockets did it for me. He sucks.
