Say we get to the Tulane game and we have 3 losses due to poor QB play b/w JJ and JL. (UGA, UF, and one from Vandy/MSU/Aubie)

That still leaves us Bama, Ole Miss, and Arky left. Do people start to say, "Start Sheppard or Garrett to take their lumps so we can have a QB next season and take a 5-6 loss season."

OR

do you continue with JJ/JL and hope to only finish with 4 losses?

I'm hoping it doesn't come down to this, but losing to UF, UGA, and 1/3 of MSU,AU, and VAndy isn't out of the realm of possibility. Do you think Les will continue the course or switch and let the younger QB take is lumps now a la VT and OSU with Taylor and Pryor? What would you do?

I would hope to go ahead and start for the future if it comes down to it, but if I'm Les knowing that I need a good season, I stay the course.

ETA: Here's to JJ or JL shutting us all the frick up and dominating! That and the D getting back in the groove of things.

This is a nightmare to consider. But stick with JJ and JL. If you go to the new guy then people start saying, "Hey when things get tough Les goes for quick fix instead of using what he has to fix the problem at hand."

If this happens, Les better have his updated resume ready.

Les could lose 6 games this year and not be fired. I guarantee it. His NC bought him at least 2 more years after last year.

I would think the chances of that happening are remote, at best. If it does happen, I would think we have WAY more problems than the QB. KC.

Yeah, b/c losing to UGA on the road, defending national champs UF with TEbow, and losing one to AUB/MSU/or Vandy is out of the realm of possibility.

That's what we should all hope happens if disaster strikes.

However, I guarantee Les would stay the course b/c like mentioned, his seat would get really hot.

It wouldn't be just QB play if we lost that many games. You stick with JJ and/or JL. they are just Soph. If they were SR., maybe you go to the younger guys for the future. But JJ and JL or still part of the future for this team.

ZoTiger, How dare you post common sense on this site. Careful, most people here do not live in reality.

The assumption would be that the defense was AVG and the QB play was HORRIBLE. (See LSU 2002)

It is a reasonable scenario. I think Garrett is going to RS no matter what, just from the #'s standpoint. The only thing that would probably change is RS would get more snaps at QB. Like the above posts, both of our QB's are young and are not done making mistakes. Some people refuse to believe LSU will be anything but Nat Champs.
