he's under-rated to everyone except for comedians. They always talk about how he was one of the best. A lot of people don't like Denis Leary because they say all he did was rip off Hicks' act.
My pick for underrated is Kevin Brennan. I saw his HBO One Night Stand and it was incredible, but then I haven't heard anything else from him in a long time. I still can't find that episode to rewatch though and I really want to see it again.

I know he was very respected amongst his peers, but you don't see too many fans bring him up.
I remember not too long ago Dave Chappelle gave him props and I thought that was awesome.

So true. The thing about Hicks was that he used his routine to also talk about political and social reform. I mean what comedian would close their act talking about how we need more love in the world? He was great.
