Mike Sadler to Michigan State

I realize most people don't care too much about kickers and punters, but this is a little disappointing. I think LSU was in his final 4 or 5, but he decided to go with the local school instead.
I know the coaches were deciding whether or not they would offer any kickers/punters besides Palardy and Sadler for the past few weeks. Has anyone heard anything more about that? I would like to see one guy come in this year, so we won't have two complete newcomers for 2011.

they were holding the kicking camp 2 saturdays ago when i was at the indoor facility.. anybody know how that went?.. maybe the coaches picked up on somebody there.. the coaches wanted that kicker from denham but only offered him a preferential walk on and he ended up getting a scholly at mcneese.. would've been nice to pick him up

They might never be 4-star recruits, but bad special teams have cost very good teams a shot at national championships. Fortunately, LSU has had some great kickers and punters over the past decade, although Dalfrey wasn't anything special in my opinion.

Oh, I know. I'm just not emotionally upset about this one.
It was a long shot (both literally and figuratively) from the beginning.

Yeah, kickers and punters seem to move around more, but it's always tough to get a guy from Michigan.
I'm just curious if there are any other guys out there who Joe Robinson is interested in. Maybe another JUCO guy like Helton?

Gotta find the next Colt David!

Jonathon Ginsburg, P, from Alexandria, out-kicked Sadler the last time they went head-to-head.
Tulane has already offered him, but he's a life-long Tiger fan and would jump at an offer from us.

I kind of hope a guy like Ginsburgh would be willing to take TOPS for one year, and then go on schollie after that. I just don't know if we have the room for another kicker this year.

That seems reasonable to me, and I think that's what Dalfrey did until his senior year. I assume that if Alleman or Listi get a starting job they will be given a scholarship, otherwise they will remain preferred walk-ons.
Is anyone familiar with Cody Mandell? He is committed to Tulane right now.

If Miles offered Sadler then there is room. And I think it would take an offer for Ginsburgh to come here. Tiger fan or not, a full ride at tulane would be hard to pass up over a TOPs and walk on at LSU.

So Tulane is going to sign two of the top six punters in the country this year?

I'm guessing they want one to place kick. I gave up trying to understand Toolame years ago.

If I remember correctly....
Colt David was a walk on.
