Best. Receiver. Ever.

No doubt LSU has had some good ones. LaFell has become very good, Bowe and Buster developed very nicely--but i am talking from day one. who has LSU's best receiver been--since taking the field.
Some may say Wendell Davis and i can't argue there. Some may say Larry Foster and i would say he was the best in that period (Ed Dangerfield, anyone?)...Clayton? for sure.
The best i would say was #41--E.T. phone home.

Josh Reed by the numbers.
Michael Clayton for his overall impact.

Seriously, though. I think Michael Clayton was. Josh Reed was a product of the offense we ran for a large part, Clayton was just the best athlete in LSU history.

Josh Reed no doubt
He was recruited as a running back and didn't start playing wide Rec till later. He didn't know the position like the others and still won best receiver

josh reed should be the only answer. he was the all-time leading receiver in the sec when he was done, and that was only having played for 3 years and wide receiver for 2. he also still hold the sec record for yards in a season. he won the billitnekoff award for the nations top receiver. there isn't a single wide receiver we've ever had that can touch him. yeah, we might have had more talented receivers, but no one produced like him. the tennessee 2000 game and the bama 2001 game were something special

No love for Eric Martin? But I agree that Josh Reed is probably the right answer.

That's tough to answer b/c its hard to compare apples to apples given the different personnel these receivers had to play with. I'd have to say Eric Martin and maybe Carlos Carson.

Clayton was in the same offense as Reed
