Has anyone who sits in non-chairback seats (North/South/Far Upper) received this mailer to lease seatback chairs in TS?

Yes, I sent in in yesterday. $40/seat. I wish they would assess us the $40 and put in real chairbacks.

Yes we also got ours and we are getting them, now I don't have to scoot over for the thunder thighs sitting next to me. This is a great idea.

The only problem is for tall people...I have to sit way back just so that I don't bump the people in front of me. It looks like these seats are pretty shallow, so there is no sitting back in them...

so how does that work. How do they prevent someone from taking your chairback? Or is it something they install for the season?

The ones Ive seen at other stadiums (Bama, GA, etc.) are bolted down.

I think these will be bolted down as well

TALL AND FAT PEOPLE have to buy two seats or stand sideways the whole game

How do you sign up for this?

I think if you have season tickets, you are supposed to get a pamphlet in the mail.

I haven't received it yet.

I got it but threw it out. Does it prevent you from bringing your own?

I think its a great idea. Many other schools have booths where you can rent one. Its a lot easier than hauling your own seat on airplanes.
I have side line seats with permanent chairback but I want the arm rests returned. I know they took them off because of larger fans. There are several around me who's butts never made it to the actual seat. I'm sure they complained so now they all spill over to the seats on either side of theirs.

No...but what OUGHT to happen is the marshalls need to tell assholes that bring these damn lawnchair type sets into the stadium to go piss up a damn rope. They are WAY bigger than the seat size and have giant arms on them that extend out even further than the seat part.
GREAT idea for LSU to do this with renting their seats...but if they don;t put a stop to people brinigng seats that don't fit the seat size then there's gonna' be a HUGE problem for fans that have neither as they'll have ZERO room.

Ordering my five. Won't have to worry about being squashed for big games. I just wish they would put in permanent chairbacks.

In the early 1980s, you could rent seatbacks for maybe 50 cents or a buck for home games. They were heavy red metal covered by a thin layer of musty canvas. I always thought they looked like something you'd pick up from an Army surplus store.
In the 1982 Florida State "Fog Game", when people ran out of oranges, stadium cups, and nachos to try to throw on the field, a few of the seatbacks went next. It was surreal to see them flying through the air alongside the oranges in the fog.
That was the last game where you could rent seatbacks.

Yep...my memory of them was that they looked like some sort of WWII life vest.
