IS George's the best poboy place in Baton Rouge, will be there on Monday, thought I would stop and have one. My favorite in the past is Old Tyme Sandwich Grocery in Lafayette, Sammy's in New Orleans(do not know if it is still open) and Georges in Baton Rouge, thank you for your suggestions...

Plenty of people on here seem to be partial to Anthony's Italian Deli on Florida.

I personally like the "10 Napkin Roast Beef" at Acme on Perkins, reminds me of the po-boys back home in NOLA. The homemade meatball po-boy at Pocorello's on Coursey is also very good, both places use the Leidenheimer po-boy bread that I grew up on.

I have always been a fan of Po-Boy Express. Never been disappointed at any location. Brewbacher's is pretty good too, if you get a good one, which I usually do. Chimes has a great Blackened alligator poboy. Not on the menu, but they will make it for you.

Po-boy express for seafood, the roast beef is lacking..

They do a pretty good philly-cheese steak.

I like the roast beef at Anthony's, not sure why, it does not come with gravy.

The Cuban po-boy at Mason's is great.

I've never been a big Po boy fan...like 'em, just not overly excited by them...until I tried the Peacemaker at Acme.

OK...now THAT is good.

Fan of shrimp Po boys now as a result. Had one at Gearges Friday. It was good, but not on a par with Acme. What made the difference? The bread! Crusty bread at Acme, soft bread at Geaorges. FWIW.

I think George's has some very good ones. The roast beef, shrimp, and turkey & swiss are excellent.
