it's funny how things work out better than they were originally intended

Its always funny to read where other actors were considered for roles that we've come to associate with the originators. It usually seems absurd to consider anyone but the actor who played the role could have done as good a job but that's because of our association to the character and actor. I can't see Barr and Kennison in these roles either.

Little known fact: Everybody Loves Raymond was originally for Raymond Burr, but he died, and the role went to Ray Romano...

yeah I hear you. I just cant imagine the show being as successful and as good as it was with those two. it seems as though ed o neil and katey sagal were perfect fits for the role. katey sagal actually came up with peggy's style, the clothes, hair, and such.
I watched the show alot when I was a kid, but I have been watching the show alot lately since it comes on cw at night. its one of the very very few shows that makes me laugh. modern sitcoms arent very entertaining to me.

It was great because it was just funny. There was never a lesson that the characters learned. Al's life sucked and he liked hooters. That's all you really need.

Kinnison was awesome when he played Al's Angel in a Christmas Episode, but nobody could have played a better Al Bundy than Ed O'neil did.

Only thing that made no sense about that show was how in the hell did Al NOT want to bang Peggy ?

The last name Bundy came from the creator's love of Wrestling. king kong bundy. He actually made two guest appearances on the show.

possibly the best show ever made. Did you all know Al bundy once scored four touchdowns in one game?

The creator Ron Leavitt was married to Jessica Hahn.

Damn, thanks for reminding me about that aspect of the show. That was funny. However, the whole Jefferson and Marcy thing stopped working for me when I found out Marcy was a lesbian in real life.
