Wondering if anybody has tried the Lafayette location. My cousin tells me it's pretty chainy, next to the mall. The building on Acadian looks nice, but where are the people gonna park?

Lafayette is good...and it was grown and owned by Lafayette guys. That is a much bigger lot than it looks from Acadian...there will be plenty of parking.

the parking lot?

I ate at the one in Laf and of course the hype didn't quite live up in their food, but looking forward to trying it once it opens here.

A place that big will have approx 40 employees at each shift. The building is on an island. If there are 100 spots, then you'll only have around 60 for customers, not enough to have for the volume they're expecting.

then by that measure, they will likely fail....happily, it isn't for me to worry about.

Normal Outback location has about 90 parks and about the same number of employees per shift..should work. I still think the property is larger than you think, and they might have more parks than 100. I can find out by calling a friend if you are really interested.

Just hope they do well. Parking is such an issue with Mexican places cause of the volume they do, especially on an island like that.

I think it's really good...especially the duck quesadillas and the seafood enchiladas.

I love the one in Lafayette, but it's what the "foodies"(I hate that fricking word) hate. TexMex. They do have some interesting menu items and I would advise people to get away from fajitas and queso and try some stuff that's outside the normal Messican box. I just said Mexican box

Actually you are partially correct. I used to work there in operations. It was grown and started by Lafayette guys, but sold out last year to some other lafayette guys who are doomed to kill it. This will be the 4th concept that they will suffocate by switching out great ingredients in search of profits. If you ever went to Coyote Blues when the original owners owned it, you would hate it now. They were previous Outback franchisees, and the ONLY group ever asked to leave the company, at any cost, personally by the owners.
