I neither work there, nor do I own it, (I wish). Actually, I sell medical equipment. You are entitled to your opinion, and I respect that, I just look for places that are original and have started new ideas, and Serranos has done that for 10 years. They were the first restaurant in baton rouge to sell fish tacos, mojitos, offer tons of tequila to choose from and on and on....
Heck, go look at Coyotes Blues. Where do you think they copied the Verde Rice from, the tequila list, the look and design of the building (go look at Serranos Lafayette and you will see that answer), the "Cuban Steak", white cheese queso, quail, crab cakes, corn and poblano soup, fried oysters, etc, etc, etc.
I just think people need to understand what they are saying before they speak. Unfortunately, you have former employees on here that may have gotten fired or quit and think it is funny to bash people. Plus, I just enjoy supporting the local neighborhood and charities.

Actually you are partially correct. I used to work there in operations. It was grown and started by Lafayette guys, but sold out last year to some other lafayette guys who are doomed to kill it. This will be the 4th concept that they will suffocate by switching out great ingredients in search of profits. If you ever went to Coyote Blues when the original owners owned it, you would hate it now. They were previous Outback franchisees, and the ONLY group ever asked to leave the company, at any cost, personally by the owners.

Come on Early, I saw you at serranos last week for the .99 cent Margarita mondays! I love Serranos. They are 1 of only a couple of Mexican restaurant that started in Baton Rouge, support local children's charities, and help Baton Rouge. Support the Locals and keep the cash here dude! Lata......
I am new to this site and wanted to check out some responses to some of our favorite restaurants in Baton Rouge. I know that everyone has their preferences, but for us Serranos has been top notch for the last 10 years! They continually update their menus with varied and interesting items, utilize plenty of local seafood, and unlike all the other restaurants listed in this thread, have recieved over 30 local and national awards including Zagat best of every year. Also, they give large amounts of time and money to local childrens charties and causes. At the very least, this is something that none of the other establishments mentioned can say. SUPPORT THE PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT BATON ROUGE!
