overrated. filled with cliches. thought it would be much better than it was.

Is sort of filled with Cliches. But, I liked it.
The scene with the woman in the car about to explode was intense.

Haven't seen it, but the movie doesn't look/sound good imo.

Which Crash?
The one with Don Cheadle, Sandra Bullock, Matt Dillon, Jennifer Esposito, Brendan Fraser, Terrence Howard, Michael Peña and Ryan Phillippe?
Very good IMO. Somewhat over the top, but I found it funny, tragic and well written and acted.

James Spader was great in that movie. Also has lots of nice sex scenes.

This actually is the better "Crash," far more interesting. Cronenberg is great.

I liked it.
I like movies like this though. Where many main characters lead different lives and yet are all intertwined.
Such as Pulp Fiction, 2 Days in the Valley, Grand Canyon etc.

I like those types of movies too. Crash seemed to forced, like it was trying too hard. Other movies with several intertwining stories that I liked much better were Magnolia and Amores Perros.

I don't know why people disliked it
It wasn't the greatest film known to man-kind, but well acted and good plot
can't go wrong

Count me in on the Cronenberg Crash being the better Crash.

Because it was Hollywood being "self important,"...and I've used this before when describing the film.. "Look, we are relevant."
I felt like I had been bludgeoned over the head with the message for two hours that wasn't all that "deep" or important. It was a movie that took itself way too seriously.
And it won Best Picture for absolutely no redeeming reason except for Hollywood to pat itself on the back.
I can understand people like it, but it was contrived and unimpressive. It was a weak year in film, so that helped it's "cause."

Dind't watch it until after the Oscars, I wanted to see what it was all about. I thought it was a great movie. I love movies that are shown from different perspectives. Crash had some pretty good quotes too.
Graham: [on the phone] Mom, I can't talk to you right now, okay? I'm having sex with a white woman.
[hangs up, and Ria gets out of bed]
Graham: OK, where were we?
Ria: I was white, and you were about to jerk off in the shower.
Graham: Oh, shite. Come on. I would have said you were Mexican, but I don't think it would have pissed her off as much
Ria: You want a lesson? I'll give you a lesson. How 'bout a geography lesson? My father's from Puerto Rico. My mother's from El Salvador. Neither one of those is Mexico.
Graham: Ah. Well then I guess the big mystery is, who gathered all those remarkably different cultures together and taught them all how to park their cars on their lawns?
Peter: We didn't get any coffee that you didn't want and I didn't order, and this is evidence of racial discrimination? Did you happen to notice our waitress was black?
