Reliable? They all just give their opinion. They aren't prophets.

I believe he has Muncie as a 5*, if I'm reading it correctly...

79. 1,480 MEARS SS Luke Muncie, 6-3, 215, 4.47, 36, Klein Oak, TX (LSU VERBAL)

Scoring system
1,500 – 1,800 = Combine Freak/BCS Prospect - (Six Star)

1,400 – 1,499 = High-Division I Football Prospect - (Five Star)

1,350 – 1,399 = Mid-Division I Prospect - (Four Star)
1,250 – 1,349 = Division I-AA Prospect - (Three Star)
1,200 – 1,249 = Division I-AAA Prospect - (Two Star)

And 10 players tied at 79. An interesting scoring system.

Said Emfinger: "Emmitt Smith is not big, he's not fast and he can't get around the corner. When he falls flat on his face at Florida, remember where you heard it first."

I bring this out every now and then. I know Max, hes a good guy and knows more than most. The first one to start a recruiting service, Joe Terranova out for Dearborn, Michigan.

Look folks everyone will miss on kids, even I sometimes, just not as often....

I haven't really followed him, but he is a household name when it comes to recruiting.

I think (and it may sound cliche) he has really knocked some out of the park and then been wayyyyy off base on others (more so than other networks).

Max has been around since dinosaurs walked the earth.

I used to listen to him talk recruiting in the early 1980's.

He was one of the few to put order into what before his time, just press clippings.

He does well, and like all has made some great calls and some really bad calls.

Most recruiting services today, try never to put themselves in a hole when asking how good a player will be in college, because of some of the things Max said on the radio back in the 80's.

and lemming was known for years for taking reports of other recruiting services and paraphrasing them, its not until he gets that contact with the Army game does he start doing some foot work.

He was pretty close..

Eddie Kennison - 1st round draft pick
David Lafleur - 1st round draft pick
Gabe Northern - 2nd round draft pick
Tory James - 2nd round draft pick

Mike Calais - One of LSU's most promising LBer's got injured & could not play.

DB Al Head was ineligable.

That class was a good one with several future NFL players and people that Dinardo used to win immediately. Hallman was the only negative associated with that class.
