A sorrowful memory...

I lost my Dad to salivary gland cancer the night after LSU clinched the game to go to the championship. He was excited. My Dad lost his voice over the last month and we talked during and after almost all LSU games. We could not talk this last month as it was too hard for him to speak. When I was born in the 60's we lived across from Tiger Stadium in the old Alex Box outfield. I lost my best friend. He was an awesome LSU fan and we will place him to rest on Thursday with his favorite LSU cap. Dad I will will cherish all of our memories. I will love and miss you forever. Happy Father's Day. You were of the greats...

Sorry to hear that. Your dad will be watching the Tigers win their 6th title from above.

Lost my dad in March '02 and my mom just this past January. They are both watching down from above, wearing their purple and gold wings, and rooting for the tigers to win #6.

My grandfather took me to see LSU games as a boy, and lost his life last year. He is watching from above screaming geaux tigers

Thank you for the post and I'm sorry for your loss. My dad passed away 15 years ago and I think of him (as well as my Mom who died 14 years ago) everyday and especially during these big games. They both loved LSU.
BTW, I'm so happy you had a dad like you did (and me as well). Too many don't have that and never got to experience what some of us have with our parents.

Lost my dad in 03. He played FB at LSU back in the 50's...miss him everyday as well. He was a great LSU fan. I wish he could have been here for the two FB national championships and for this baseball series. He would be loving every minute of LSU sports right now.
btw i have a sister who has lived in Houston for 25 years....she told me "I hope LSU stomps the crap out of texas"
miss ya dad!

I'd give my right arm for ten more minutes with my father. Those ten minutes would be filled with the same respect...the same humor...and the same love of family and LSU as we watched Matty Ott close out the horns in a ninth inning one, two, three let the dog pile begin.

I'm sorry to hear man. Hes got the best seat in the house now to watch it though. See if he can get the man upstairs to give us alittle help tonight to close it out.

I lost my dad 3 days after the 2007 NC. He played football at LSU and I can still see him smiling after the win. The memories you have will only get better over time. Cheers

I feel everyone's pain. Lost my Dad on Christmas morning. We went blind and I would read the sports page to him. It was great.

Sorry to hear that. I lost both parents within 9 months back in '05 and '06. I miss them every single day.
Here's to all the loved ones lost and the precious memories that remain.

I also lost my Mom this past January. There is not a day that goes by that she is not on my mind. She LOVED LSU,and was into Football and Baseball. She would always put the jinks on the opposing team by saying gre gre
. She is up in heaven smiling down on LSU.

God bless your father and God bless you. Growing up with a father like yours that loves LSU sports it really hits home to me. I will always cherish my memories with my father like you had. Every home game in Tiger Stadium I sit next to my father and I thank God I have the opportunity to do that. Your father is up in heaven and will be looking down when the LSU fighting tigers win the National Championship in baseball for the 6th time.
