MLB figures they can teach someone how to hit, especially if they're fast as frick and good at defense

He's fast and thats all that matters in baseball aparently. His obp is high because pitchers throw all breaking pitches to him and they miss the zone with it.

Not one hundred percent sure cause I might have missed a game this season...maybe two, but I am pretty sure he leads the team in SO as well...JUST SAYIN...but, keep in mind, I might have missed one game...so what do I know?

It doesn't matter if they throw it right fricking at him, he gets on base. He leads the team in sb (damn near DOUBLE our 2nd guy) and he is 2nd in runs scored. You dont have to get a hit everytime up to be effective.

so what you're saying is he gets on base a lot and has the threat to steal every time. isn't that the ultimate goal as a hitter, get on base. i wish all our players had an obp as high as jmitch.

Not too much apparently. In spite of the strikeouts he is effective.

hes 5th in hits and 5th in BA. who gives a shite if he leads the team in SO. He is effective as hell in other ways.

Ryan howard strikes out a fricking ton. Tell the phillies to bench him. He's trash. You can ONLY be effective if you don't K a bunch.

Yeah I guess when you dominate those mid week games to pad your stats who cares if you hit in the postseason as long as you did well enough against crap competition to still have a 320 avg with a hitless postseason. I'm glad all our players dont do this.
