Sidney Crosby is a douchebag

This my exact quote from the Pens-Wings thread from last night before the game started.
Wings say they were snubbed by Crosby
LINK
Now it is one thing to not do it in the NBA like LeBron failed to do, but it isn't common practice in the NBA. In the NHL, it is common practice after every series ends.
quote:
Sid the Kid has no personality at all and is a complete douchebag and whines about the most pointless things. He is alot like LeBron in that they both expect the world to be given to them and they have both been so hyped up since they were little, except Crosby isn't the best player in his league, maybe not even on his own team. But he is a playoff warrior.

for the life of me, I can't figure out why fans care about dumb stuff like this.
I can only imagine that it's because we're inundated with sports news 24hrs a day, so mountains have to be made out of molehills.
Why can't fans just like athletes for how good they are and not stuff that has no bearing on them personally? Let the Red Wings be pissed off at Crosby and slap his arse around next year.
Sitting around with panties in a wad, discussing it all over TV does no good at all.

Well considering it's a tradition in the NHL, I'd say people can gripe about it when they want to.

He probably just feels like they cheapshotted him when he got hurt and was too pissed off about that to want to go shake hands with them
Posted on 6/13/09 at 2:10 pm to UnluckyTiger
and LeBron not talking to the media or shaking hands, that's tradition too that fans should care about?
What people fail to realize is that all this shite gets taken care of on the court/ice/field...whether or not the media pokes their nose into it, it gets dealt with.

I'm not doubting he didn't shake his hand, but they showed Crosby in the line shaking hands after the game.

Did you not read my full post, I said it isn't as big of a deal in the NBA.

well according to ESPN, Lebron gave away our nuclear missile secrets.
I'm not bashing you, I'm bashing the media that blows these situations out of proportion. I'm sure they won't in this situation, only because it's hockey, but in the other sports they take stuff like this and turn it into "breaking news", and then discuss up until the moment Brett Favre rolls out of bed and sneezes (which of course means he's going to play another year).

It's a real disrespectful move in the NHL. I deemed it thread worthy.
+1
I could care less if they ever shake hands in other sports...big deal.....Hockey....after a series you shake hands....that's just the way it is. It's a GREAT tradition

Good God, who fricking cares?!? Is it because they're supposed to be "role models?" Is it because they're supposed to use "good sportmanship?" Crosby was trucked earlier in the game and left with an injury. You really think he would want to shake that guy's hand, or anyone on the team for that matter? I don't know why the media blows up this stupid shite. What's next? Tom Brady doesn't say thank you and gives a pat on the arse after an opponent helps him up off of the ground?

this is what I want to know?
What sucks about this, is that by becoming a story it takes away time for anyone to talk about positive performances, good coaching and so on...
Discussion of this shite takes up newspaper space and TV airtime, so instead of discussing how the Magic shut down the Cavs, or why Pittsburgh won, we get discussion of something that amounts to tabloid fodder.

LeBron and Crosby are the faces of their respective leagues, you would think the faces of the leagues would show GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP. Is it that fricking hard to understand?

They BOTH should have done the right thing. BUT Crosby as the winner and THE WINGS as the loser. Too frickin bad!!!! The Wings should be more worried about how they coughed up a lung last night and CHOKED ON IT!!!!!
