Treated he and the track program like a red headed stepchild

1.) Giving Pokey Chatman a huge raise instead.
2.) Not fixing up the indoor track.

Not so fast, my friend. I do. Let's see how this plays out.

I was just joking, but you're right, this was probably the biggest factor

Basically it was over not refurbing the indoor center. Henry ran a solid program but DS did all the coaching.

then should we expect 20+ titles under shaver?

The only time the track teams were recognized for willing their national championship is if the baseball team won theirs in the same year, otherwise the NC's that the track team won, went unnoticed. The track team was never given a recognition fanfare on their own.

I've heard from T&F fans that LSU sent nobody from the Ath-Dept to greet the team off the plane the last time that they won a national title. It supposedly was the last straw with Henry.
Also heard that Skip didn't want to pour much into Bernie Moore, nor pay Henry a modest raise..
Say what you will about Pat Henry or John McConnell(now retired) national titles, and whether many even care or watch, but at the end of the day, they are national titles, university exposure, and hardware hauls for the schools..
Pat Henry has both ATM programs rolling, especially the women track team, gonna help keep their name out there in the news, while their Football program languishes, just like he did for LSU in the '90s.

So, do you think LSU did the right thing or not with Coach Henry?

LSU was moronic to let Henry walk, if a modest raise would have kept him in BR.

LSU won the national title last year and is very much in the mix this year. It seems LSU T&F is still rolling.

Going strong, but Shaver had to find his stride, it took a small step back for a while there.
And the Men seemingly are tad less than under Henry, though he too left some national titles on the table due to not having enough field event points in many seasons where they finished 2nd and 3rd.
LSU under both coaches, has relied upon track events to accrue the lion share of points.

I agree with this. If anyone thinks differently, then, by all means, bring it.

How much dough does track bring in?

Shaver is a good replacement for Henry but they should have kept Henry here.

How much revenue does men's track generate in net proceeds to LSU's athletic department?
Answer that question and you probably have your answer.
