Evidently he showed up at Arkansas camp and received an offer as a CB....

Any info on him? He reported he ran a 4.31 at LSU camp and may have an offer...Also reported that Nebraska will offer if he shows up at camp...

Never heard of him and I don't think that Springhill is much of a football power. Sounds like a really small school. Could be a great steal for Hogs.

Not familiar with him and he does not have a LSU offer.

Keep us updated...

It's suprising that we have a 4* CB in-state that does not hold an Arky offer...this kid shows up and BAM...he gets an offer. He did win the fastest man award at camp...

I've noticed it for several SEC schools that some no-names are making it to camp and winding up with offers

Just shows you that SEC coaches know more about talent than some $10 internet site.

That, maybe, plus the fact that these are kids, and are still growing and developing. They can change very, very fast. And, I really doubt that that's a secret to any coaching staff.

Another reason it appears he got an offer over say... Anterio Sloan is he's got 30 lbs on him

Although I'm clearly an LSU Tiger fan, I'm nevertheless very glad to hear that Charcandrick (around Springhill everyone knows him as "Moosie") West has been offered by Arkansas. Moosie was been our best running back last year. Didn't play as much on defense, but really made a difference when he did. He's a very hard hitter (both on defense and offense; frequently after a football practice my son will come home and tell me how hard Moosie hit him that day at practice.). Just as the Ouchita Christian School running back how HARD Moosie hits. (At the spring scrimmage a few weeks ago, the OCS RB had to be helped off the field and never returned after being hit by Moosie early in the scrimmage.) Very physical runner, playing either fullback or tailback depending on the need at the time. Has good hands. Will probably need some work in the classroom. Has not been a problem with attitude or behaviour. Is a soft-spoken leader on the team. Works out very hard. Set a school record this past spring at 100 meters. I didn't realize he was 4.31 fast!

Yah, Springhill's not the statewide 2A power we used to be, but expect things to be much better for the 2009 season. We really struggled last year w/ 0-10 record.....

I dont know anything about Charcandrick West other than he's fast, but I'll take West in a hearbeat over Sloan. Sloan measured in at 5'8 at the LR combine a few weeks ago, he doesnt have a great 40 and he needs to hit the weight room. Not a high D1 caliber CB imo. Will definitely be a project.

BTW...After the Arkansas coaches finally got to see Garrett Uekman in person they offered him a scholly today.

saw that...good timing with a new TE commit today for LSU...even though he may project to DE

Don't know if Uekman could commit anyway to LSU...
