I'm doing a slower cooker rump roast. I put it on at 10am on low.
Just put mushrooms and a chopped onion on the bottom. Place the roast on top of that. For liquid you can add a can of beef broth or a bottle of beer. I used broth today which also contains the salt.
Then sprinkle some pepper, chopped garlic and any herbs you like.
I'll turn it at 2pm. It will be ready at 5. Let it rest, make the gravy for rice by adding flour to the liquid. Carve against the grain and you're serving something special at 6.

Oh come on, bell peppers aren't fattening.
I'm still going with tomatoes in pots on the deck. One is starting to grow the other had to be put out of it's misery. Will buy a replacement tomorrow.

they are when you cram them with cream cheese and wrap them in bacon
are you fertilizing regularly? i notice a huge change when i dont squirt them with miracle grow every week.

I run water into a large bucket in the evening and allow it to sit for all night to let the chlorine get out. Then water in the morning. I add the Miracle grow to the bucket once a week. Should I use it more often?

i water twice a day, always early morning and late afternoon. never water when the sun is beating down on the plant. i use those little squirt bottles of MG. it says to hook them to the hose but i just squirt around the plant and then water. when its concentrated like that its important not to get it on the plant; just the dirt. the plant will burn. i reckon you could get away with using it every 4 days, as long as you just put a few seconds worth of squirt on it.
i dont know what you mean about the chlorine. i guess we're spoiled in BR with our water. i just put the hose in the bed and soak the dirt. when you water a potted plant make sure it runs out the bottom of the plant, then stop. they LOVE LOVE LOVE sun. all day if you can.

My tomatoes are in pots and they are exposed to sun and rain. I've noticed that rain makes them grow more than hose water. I did some research and learned that allowing hose water to sit evaporates the chlorine which rain does not contain. It's worked really well on my flowers. But I'm just in my second year of growing tomatoes.
You might notice that your grass in the lawn reacts more with rainwater than with sprinkling. It's the chlorine difference.

At my house, tonight will be burgers with grilled pineapple (probably season the meat with a little soy, some ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes), and baked sweet potato fries

I'm sorry, but ginger is not allowed on this board.
You must type "girl on Gilligan's Island who is not Mary Ann."
