Your Son's First LSU Game Experience

For me, it was New Year's Eve @ the Chicken Bowl. My son became immediately hooked by the purple and gold atmosphere. He immediately proclaimed LSU is where he'd spend his college years beginning in 2018. He's bypassing his homestate schools in Georgia to go to the state school of my native state. 
I can't wait to get him in Tiger Stadium.

He turns two in July. It will be one of the non major games this fall.

3 weeks ago today at the Florida baseball game. We only stayed 3 innings but the boy had a blast and seemed to enjoy the sights, sounds and scenery.
We went back and forth on his first opportunity for a football game -- last year vs. Bama. As great as story it would make, we decided in the end thought it was impractical to take someone to Tiger Stadium on their first full day of life on Earth.
We'll see how this football season goes.

My son is a jr in HS next year and already has said LSU is one of the schools he wants to visit. We did go to UGA for the LSU series and the UGA campus is nicer than I remember from the last time I was there. But with my wife and I both for LA he's been an LSU fan since birth. He has a big LSU flag hanging in his room as well as a picture of he and Les Miles from an LSU fotball camp a few years ago. We've been to the GA dome everytime LSU has played.
Last year he and I went on our first road trip together over to South Carolina to see the LSU play. Great game and we had a blast. With his sports it's hard to get over to BR to catch a home game but that's on our list of things to do one of these days. I'l always remember my nights in Tiger Stadium with my dad.

I have no children, but have taken a number of youngsters to tiger stadium on saturday nights...each and every one was totally hooked and right then and there to attend LSU when the time came....
I say if it convinces just one young person to attend college who otherwise may not have, it is totally worth the effort...

my dad has been a season ticket holder since the 80's. In 1997 he brought me to my first LSU game when i was 3 years old. Since then I have been to every home game, a few road games, a few bowl games, and two national championships.

My son's first LSU game experience was against Alabama in Bryant-Denney Stadium 2001. Michael Clayton caught something like 10 passes for 100+ yards and was a very distant second to Josh Reed's 19 catches for 273 yards. Rohan Davey set the Bryant-Denny record by passing for 528 yards. Most importantly, LSU beat the Tide 35-21

I took my 4 year old son to the Wally Pontiff Classic. He had a blast. Some guys who had been sitting behind us asked my boy if he was cheering for the Tigers. My boy looked back at them with a puzzled look and said "No. I'm cheering for LSU!"

I know this thread says sons but my daughter has been to 5 basketball games and 1 baseball games and is truly a freak like her daddy. I watch as much as I can and she can spot the purple and gold from a far. I started her early and she loves our TIGERS. If she has my brains and not her moms she'll be in college at the good ole Louisiana State University.

Well, even though I live in So Cal, I've kept my football season tickets and try to make a trip home for a game every year. My 3 kids (2 boys and a girl) rotate years as to which one gets to make the trip with me. All of them have grown up HUGE LSU fans in spite of the distance and lure of other schools here in so cal (we have also attended USC games, and while that is a great experience, it is nothing like a night in Tiger Stadium; we also attend UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton baseball games but my oldest son - who plays baseball and will be a jr in high school next year - is begging me to take him to a game at the Box).
My youngest son went with me back in 2005 to the Florida game where JaMarcus Russell rallied with a couple of touchdowns for the win. I really thought he'd get bored half way through and want to leave but I couldn't have gotten him out of the place before the game was over if I had tried. He was hooked from the time we watched the band come down the hill. After the game, we got to meet some of the players including JaMarcus. My son decided then he wants to play QB for the Tigers.
The following year (2006) my oldest son got to go (not his first trip but the most memorable one) and this time it was the Ole Miss game where JaMarcus led LSU to a score to help send the game to overtime, where we then picked up the win. Afterwards, we again got to meet some of the players including JaMarcus but the player my oldest son was most excited about was Chris Jackson because he also played baseball (my son plays baseball and of course hopes to play for the Tigers one day).
My daughter went with me two years ago, but this time we went to the BCS National Championship game...not quite a night in Tiger Stadium, but an awesome experience nonetheless. She got to meet a number of the players afterwards including Matt Flynn, Herman Johnson and Jacob Hester. She still talks about it and asks about those players from time to time.
