RCB Bank in Northeast Oklahoma is offering 4% on checking accounts up to $25000(account balance). No fees. You have to use the debit card 12 times a month, get statements online, and check your account online once a month. If you do that, there are no fees.

Sounds pretty good, but is it too good?

How long is that rate good for? I'm guessing it's a teaser rate that will be adjusted down to what other banks are paying as soon as they get enough of those accounts.

I'll find out. I figure it is, but might as well get some return while I can. I just wanted to check with the money crowd.

Just remember, this money crowd is always right!!!

Seriously, if that rate is good for only 30 days, it's probably not worth your time to get fiddy cents additional interest, or even treefiddy....

I have had a similar account at Campus Federal for about a year now...rate has stayed the same.

I have the same exact account with OIB in Monroe. It started at 5.01% and for a little over a year now it has stayed at 4.01

The rate actually started at 5.01% in April '08 and moved to 4.25% in March I believe...still pretty good...
