but I think this is Meachem's break out year. This will be his third year in the system and he should have it down by now. His third year at Tennessee was his break out year and lead to the Saints drafting him. He's healthy and he's in shape, he'll put it all together and put together a solid season. Thoughts?

This is the 2nd year I have thought this. I hope you are right.

It'd be a nice surprise, that's for sure. Especially with Colston having more problems with his knee than first thought.
I think Arrington has more upside.

I hope this too. They would have to be one of the most formidable WR groups in the league if Colston, Moore, Henderson, Meachem and Arrington all play up....great things man, great things...not to mention the possibility of Shockey (give me Miller though) and Reggie and PT out of the backfield...Vick would have a field day....Um....I mean Brees would have a field day.

awwww shite. man, i'm still recovering from the vick riots. but, (sigh) i'll agree on the meach thing here. arrington too. i think if put on the field he will do some work, yeard....

i'm giving him 1 more year, general rule of thumb is give receivers 3 years, here it is

I the report are make it seem like this is his year.

This had better be his break out year or he is done.
Either way I still maintain what I've said since the moment he was drafted. Bad fricking pick. Even if he does go for 800 yards or so, who is to say that we couldn't have drafted any jackass from the 4th or 5th round and he could have been a decent contributor by his 3rd year?
Bad, bad pick. Should have picked either Olsen or Posluszny.

Olsen and poz haven't been that good. Grubbs or Houston would have been nice, though.

Olsen has been awesome. He's a TE and led the Bears in receiving TDs and was second in receptions and yards.
Poz looked promising before he got hurt his first year. Last year he had 129 tackles, a forced fumble and an interception and was named the Bills defensive MVP.
Don't forget that the guy drafted after Meachem was Joe Staley who has started every game at left tackle.
I think this is Meachem's last year to prove himself. If he doesn't do it this year he can be labeled a bust. As for the reports, he was suppose to do better last year when he was working out with Patten. That didn't turn out so hot either.

he needs to do something before he's completely worthless on the field or in a trade

oh no, people bashed the hell out of Houston, couldn't pick him

joe staley is a great pick, but that kid Aaron Ross out of Texas has been a beast and would have sewn up that safety spot for us...
Posted on 5/27/09 at 3:55 pm to belowmebama
Wasn't Ross gone before we picked?
Posted on 5/27/09 at 3:57 pm to tiger band trumpet
Not that I remember...could be wrong

Yes, he went at 20 and he plays CB.

Yea saw he went 20 my bad...too lazy to look shite up...I thought he was more of a hybrid safety guy?

I plays CB for NYG. You may be thinking of Michael Griffin who also played at Texas and wend to Tenn. in that draft....plays Safety.
He moved to cb the year Pac-man got suspended, but moved back that same year.
Thanks you Wiki....
