Anybody going to the Ole Miss game? I am going and it will by my 1st time to any kind of an away game. I was wondering if anybody on this board is going to Memphis the night before and where is a good spot to tailgate gameday at Ole Miss since I have never been to Ole Miss and would like to tailgate with my fellow LSU faithful.

Not my favorite away game, just not that happening of a city. IMO if i were you I would go to the Bama game, Tuscaloosa is actually kinda fun.

I would love to go to the bama game, but the budget this year only allows the Ole Miss game. I have heard that Beale Street is painted in purple and gold.

Why would you go to Memphis instead of Oxford the night before the game?

Why not party in the Square? Or somewhere else on campus? That'll be a happenin' weekend in Oxford.

You should party in Oxford friday night to get the full experience of an away game trip, IMO

I have made a handful of road trips and Ole Miss was my favorite. I would definitely stay in Oxford, though, and take in that scene the night before the game. It was electric the last time I went (2003). You can hit Beale Street anytime.

Just my .02 and I plan to head back to Oxford this year.

OM trip is not for the women and children.
It can get ugly.

I thought it was ok at best. Having to hear "first down.... Ole Miss" on the PA will really make one contemplate suicide.

I can't for the life of me figure out why you would want to go to Memphis. There will be more than enough in Oxford. Anyone who says its the worst road trip must have gone to the wrong places. We don't regularly hold the top of that party school list (along with LSU) because there's nothing to do. Hang out on the Square. There will be plenty of Tiger fans. You could probably get in on the Greek thing if you could find a connection.

I made the OM trip cpl of years ago. There's a lot happening in the square the night before the game. We headed to Beale St the night after the game. It was damn cold and almost deserted and hardly anything was happening. Ended up in PP which was crowded as hell with hardly any standing room. Wherever you go just watch out for the cops... they were everywhere.
