Ole Miss rejuvination
It's been a one-sided rivalry for the past few decades that can't be fixed a year or two.
No doubt the 70's and 80's were one sided. Almost like the 60's were one sided for us. As far as the "the past few decades" you're gonna have trouble getting by the 90's. You had to take 6 of the last 7 just to get it to this. THIS decade has been one-sided, but hopefully we're righting the ship. I am not in anyway trying to take a thing from LSU. I have no problem with the Tigers. Just don't overlook the fact that for two decades you only have a three game lead.

I can't for the life of me figure out why you would want to go to Memphis. There will be more than enough in Oxford. Anyone who says its the worst road trip must have gone to the wrong places. We don't regularly hold the top of that party school list (along with LSU) because there's nothing to do. Hang out on the Square. There will be plenty of Tiger fans. You could probably get in on the Greek thing if you could find a connection.

We might need Hoover to solidify a top 8 seed. Other than that, you're right. Neither of us will acheive anything in Hoover. Go Rebs!

I've had this conversation with y'all before, and I always end up saying that I give LSU credit for 2003. AP did not. To me, LSU has three NCs. '59, '03, '07. On the same note, AP did not give us the '60 NC. They ended the poll prior to the bowl games and gave it to a Minn. team that did not even win the bowl. Practically everyone else gave us '60. So it's LSU 3 OM 1. If you don't want to count non-AP NCs, then it's 2-0. Personally, I'm more concerned that we haven't won it in my lifetime. We might want to work on that.
Again, good luck getting to Omaha. Go Tigers!

There are some haters. I have always felt that the stadium upgrade would help, but it is ultimately Omaha that we need to gain credit as an elite program. That is where people are starting to get upset. 90% know he's an extremely great hire.

Oh and check with the NCAA on that Latina NC. The NCAA does recognize us for 2 NCs, or maybe one, I can't remember. Who cares?

We know you guys won what really matered in '03. We also know that you won what mattered this year. We just take credit because that's how the rule is written. As for as this year in baseball, I am only using the SEC champion title to annoy the Bianco haters that were using that as a reason to fire him. I feel that this title is meaningless as soon as regionals begin. So congrats on winning the SEC this year. Maybe we'll EARN that CO title when we beat you guys in the tourney.
Good Luck in the Regionals

Your right, '59 wasn't AP. In fact, none of ours were AP. Alabama has a bunch of those "fake ones"; I know that. I also know that the 2003 LSU NC was not AP, but I still give the Tigers credit for the NC. I don't even put the split-decision label on it; y'all won it! So in a day where split decisions were much more regular, we won it! We were beat out in '60 by an 8-2 Syracuse (AP NC) when we were undefeated. It was a weird time. We can argue over a lot of things, but let's not argue over NC's. We both have three NC's by all polls, and you guys have played unbelievable ball for the last 6 years to tie that mark. I envy the 2 NC's in 5 years. I hope we can just get back on the football map. Go Rebels and :geauxtigers:

After the link from another poster and your explanation, yes, I see. That's cool to know. BTW, you mentioned third down punts. I am not old enough 2 remember, but I do believe that the halloween punt to Cannon was on third down. It was very common. I may be wrong though. (BTW, we won the NC in that season with a 21-0 Sugar Bowl win over LSU--no one ever points that out!)

So are you saying the bandits would basically come in only when needed/crucial third down plays. Thus beginning the third down chinese bandit song? Am I missing it? I really want to understand this because I really do respect y'all's traditions over any other school. (Except for us)

Chinese Bandit Question
Posted by swayzedaysofsummer on 11/20/08 at 8:12 pm
I am an Ole Miss fan so excuse the lack of knowledge on you guys great traditions. I was just wondering if the third down song and the bowing has anything to do with the 1958 chinese bandit NC. I don't know exactly why I am trying to connect the two but I am. Could neone educate me on the third down tradition and the bandit tradition. :geauxtigers: just lose on Saturday.

Okay, I am going to bed now. Thank you for prooving that it does matter. I hear how we are not any importance all the time. You have just seen the 5 worst years in our history and have defeated us 6 straight years. Still, you can't take a compliment from a Rebel Fan. Good luck Saturday. Just don't win. Thank you for all the good times in red stick, and thanks ahead of time for the one coming up.

No argument here. A couple of NC's do put a wrench in the argument. Good job on that. Like I said before. No problems with LSU. I enjoy the game, but don't say it doesn't matter because it does.

Yeah, we said that in the late 90's. You guys say that now. It goes in cycles.
