Maybe because of the odds he had to overcome because of a drug addicted mother. Maybe it's just that he's from LSU, hell I don't know. There's just something about that dude that is kinda cool. I think he has the potential to have the same open personality as Shaq has, once the media really start to follow him. When he hit that shot last night to win the game, I jumped off the couch like I just hit that shot. I love basketball. I love LSU and yes, I love Big Baby.

Not to mention the plethora of rantards who said he would be a huge bust, including myself

Right there with you, Raparoot. He is probably my favorite Tiger of all time.

He plays with a ton of heart and passion.

Plus, he's a complete goofball.

Same here man... I'm happy as hell for the kid. What I love most about him is that he stayed all 4 years at LSU... I hope he has a successful 10+ years in the NBA... He deserves it.

I thought he would be too short for his role

I knew the kid wouldn't be a bust, but that he would excel, he has unbelievable quickness and footwork for somebody that size, just wait til he gets more confidence within himself and Boston gives him a green light to do what he was doing at LSU, you know the spinning on defenders reverse layup shite

I honestly thought the kid shoulda went in the first, they got a steal for the second, but those retarded looking faces he was making after hitting big shots

Not only is he short and can't jump very well, he has a very low release point on his shots under the basket.

Despite all that, he's doing the damn thing.

is it just me or does he look like one of the hungriest(not meant as a joke), 110% effort, try-hard players i have ever seen..if that makes any sense.....he's got that look of confidence in his eyes and he's having a ball.....what a 2nd round steal!!.....i wish the Hornets could fire Jeff Bower right now for passing on Big Baby....i think every LSU fanatic knew he would be a steal for any NBA franchise...too bad our scouts and Jeff Bower didn't think so....oh well, at least the Celtics found a furure and current replacement for future Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett....good for them and Big Baby....could he have found a better situation?....and could the Celtics have found a better replacement?...WOW....way to go Big Baby!!!....i don't think LSU fans are surprised at all in what they have seen from him......i will forgive Jeff Bower if he simply does what it takes to get Marcus Thornton in a Hornets uniform....we need another scorer..especially at shooting guard...

dude is 6'7" or 6'8" that is tall enough because with the girth he has it's easy for him to move defenders, he'll always draw fouls.

Riley,

He actually only stayed 3 years at LSU, but he certainly made them count.

Hmmmm you musta missed his entire junior season.

That being said, I couldn't be happier for the guy. He put in the work he needed to get better in the league. Im not sure that can be said for his time in BR but Im glad he is taking advantage of his opportunity

danfraz....are you really surprised that he's having a successful NBA career?....maybe i'm wrong...there may be more LSU fans than i originally thought that are surprised at this...but i'm not...his junior year was a tough one for LSU basketball as a whole because of injuries and lack of talent but i don't think Big Baby had a bad season or anything..just because his draft stock didn't soar doesn't mean he had a bad season....IMOP i'm definitely not surprised that Big Baby is playing well for the Celtics since he's got talent around him and teams aren't keying on him....i thought he would be pretty good in the NBA because he always made up for his lack of height with soft shooting touch, his array of moves and his heart....not surprised at all....

you would think that LSU fans whom have followed Big Baby's career would be the least shocked at his success....but maybe i'm wrong...

I think the majority of LSU fans saw his junior year as a sign that Big Baby wasn't into working hard to improve his game. I think most people thought he was lazy after that season. Do a search and see how many are surprised at his success.

You know he did not have that jumper in college right?

danfraz...your right...he sucked in college....i guess whoever thought Big Baby was good in college and would be pretty good in the pros doesn't know what they are talking about...whoever's not surprised that he's playing well for the Celtics is a moron in my book.....whoever doesn't share your opinion doesn't know shite, too....

+1

Looks like he finally got some coaching. Developing that midrange jump shot has transformed his offensive game. Even though they are completely different players that same shot made Karl Malone an All Star for about 10 more years after he started slowing down and couldn't just power inside anymore. Defenders can't sag in on Davis now and just defend the drive. That shot last night was at the outside edge of his range but he has become deadly at 15 feet or so. He has elevated himself from a hustling garbage man inside to a real scoring threat.

Great job by Glen. His ability to replace some of Garnet's scoring this year because of the development in his game has saved the Celt's season IMO.
