I'm looking for suggestions for a restaurent to celebrate graduation in New Orleans.

I would like to go to a restaurant that has a variety of options, meaning not just primarily seafood entrees as I have a family member with an allergy. I realize this is a little tougher to find down here in NOLA!

Also something nice. If it's pricey that's ok, but not extremely pricey (Commanders Palace = too expensive).

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Honestly, I wouldn't do Muriel's - not for such an important occasion.

I went there recently for a special occasion, and I regretted it.

They didn't do anything particularly wrong - it was just all so....average. I couldn't remember anything about the meal 2 days after I ate it!

Not that I'm trying to sway you to Commander's, but you have compared the prices of the two dinner menus?

They both have the fixed course deal, and I believe Commander's is less than $10 more. Seems like sort of a no-brainer...

Galatoire's would probably cost you more than Commander's - everything is a la carte and pretty pricey.

Muriel's would cost as much as Commander's and Galatoire's would cost more.

I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere of Muriels. We dined upstairs and had drinks and cigars on the balcony. It is $$$$$ though,
