Which was your favorite and why?
My fav. was Back to the Future 2. I love how they depicted the year 2015 and I thought Elisabeth Shu was better as Marty's girlfriend (Jennifer)than the girl who played her in part 1.
Back to the Future part 1 comes in a close 2nd. And then of course coming in last but not least was the western Back to the Future part 3.
All together, I loved all three of them.

The common order of preference seems to be 2, 1, and 3, which is my preference too. I think part III gets ranked last because of the overburdening love story.

I agree about the overburdening love story between Doc and Mary Steenburgen in part3.

3 is still pretty good, but compared to 1 and 2 it falls short.

I am the world's foremost expert on Back to the Future, and I rank them 1, 3, 2. All three were great, and the gaps between their greatness is not very big, but 2 was a bit hokier than 3. The love story was not as bad as the bizarre time travelling train Doc built, despite the fact that he said that he never should have built the time machine in the first place.
On a side note, I heard that my girlfriend is trying to get me a DeLorean grooms cake for our wedding.

Yeah I always hated that.
They actually had it ended perfectly until that shite happened. Even as a 10 year old in the audience I was like

The question is, what happened to Christopher Lloyd's career? I know he is an admitted alcoholic but I thought he was been sober since 2002.

Sequels are rarely ever better than the first installment and the Back To The Future franchise is no different in that regard. Part 1 is the best.

Pt 1 is great. I rarely give a sequel a chance. Except Rocky and Star Wars. I also watched Revenge of the Nerds II out of obligation.

To me Part 1 is the only one that is worth anything.
The other 2 should have never been made.......just like Jaws 2, 3 etc.

Back to the Future 2 was the best one IMO. It was just awesome how they had to deal with 2 flashbacks at the same time.

Which had the better theme song?
Part 1's "Power of Love" by Huey Lewis and the News
or
Part 3's "Double Back Again" by ZZ Top
Part 1's "Power of Love" by Huey Lewis and the News
or
Part 3's "Double Back Again" by ZZ Top

Freakin A! People who don't see how contrived parts 2 and 3 were compared to the original story are not living in reality.
Those two sequels were money grabs and nothing to do with a natural extension of the story.

Obviously... but they were still entertaining.

The reason I am so for stem cell research is so Michael J. Fox can get cured and back into acting.

Dude I'm with you. I was a big fan of the 1st as a kid so when 2 came out I of course went to the theater to see it. The ending of the movie just cuts off and it says, "Come back for Part 3" or whatever.....talk about pissed. No movie should EVER end without some sort of conclusion and say "Now come back lemmings and give us another $10 in 2 years and see part 3."
Horrible. 3 was absolutely horrible and 2 wasn't much better IMO.
