Bringing wine onto Carnival Cruise

I was told you can bring 2 bottles of wine on board per person. Is this true. Does champagne count? Looking for help from previous passengers.

You can bring whatever you want. I brought a case of beer and emptied a couple of 2 liters of sprite and put Crown in the sprite bottles.

I asked the guy who got the bag out of my car, and he opened it and saw everything was sealed under my clothes and he said you are good to go

I think you are safe as long as you put all your liquids in plastic bottles.

Cans? Where did you hide it.

emptied out a case of water and put it in the water bottles. Didn't hide it, just put it in a bag.

You can bring a few bottles on Royal Caribbean, not sure about Carnival, assume they would be the same. The Royal ships charge a corking fee if you bring it to dinner, not sure about the rest.

Got off a Carnival cruise a few weeks ago.. I bought a fridge pack of desani water and emptied out a few bottles and filled with rum and vodka and sealed the box back. Packed in checked baggage and had no problem.. Just mixed it with the juices available on board in a big squeeze bottle.
As for wine legit though you can bring two bottles on but you will pay a corking fee in the dining room to open it. Should all be explained on their website.
BTW food was not too bad at all. I was suprised.

You can bring bottled water. You can bring canned soda. There is a size limit if you bring a cooler and if it is larger than the allowed size, they will take it. You can bring 2 bottles of wine each.
For liquor I don't even worry about "hiding" it in other bottles. I just keep everything in their original bottles and wrap it good in bubble wrap and pack it.

No problem. I brought two 5ths. You'll still have a $250.00/day bar bill. It's unavoidable. You'll be at the pool and will be unable to resist the $15.00 Mai Tai in the Gorilla coconut.

LOL when my GF saw those (they had a blue margaritta) I knew I would be packing it at the end of the trip.. On Carnival they do sell a drink of the day card for 23 plus tip that makes it cheaper to get those drinks (5 per card) We actually saved a ton though by buying a thermal bottle and putting a good bit of our snuck on supply in it then going up to the lido and filling it with juice.

The absolute best way to go...if you can...is to go with a large group that offers the "All You Can Drink" card!
I did this last year...and doing it again this year and it is the only way to go.
Your group must have over 35 people and every single person in the group must participate in the offer.
Only some travel agents' groups are allowed to use the offer.
For a 5 night cruise the AYCD card was $225 per person. Trust me...if you like to drink at all...it's a bargain! It includes all liquor...even premium stuff.
My husband and I drink Red Bull and vodka. They charge separately for this! They charge $7 a shot for the Grey Goose. They charge $6 a can for the Red Bull. They also put a 15% tip on each drink. So without our bar card, each drink would've run us $14.95!!!!!
We pretty much we got our money's worth on the first day/night!
And it's really nice not having to worry about a budget since you're already paid in advance for it and it's really great not to hold your breath as you see the dreaded "Sail and Sign" bill slip under your door the night before the cruise is over.
I've been on 13 cruises and that is the worst! The party is over and then you see your bill for $1,000 in bar tabs! LOL

aunt and uncle put booze in the biggest mouth wash bottles...

Have not heard of this.. Wonder if those radio station cruises do that.. I just check my S&S bill on the TV to see where Im at.. Also there are certain drinks you can order for more milage towards getting drunk like the goombay smash.

We've also done the all you can drink card, it's awesome! By far the best cruise I've been on and worth every penny. I would say it's easily the most I've ever drank in a 5 day span.

LOL I hear ya Woody! I does encourge more drinking! At first we were thinking...gotta get our money's worth...but after the first night we just kept thinking how screwed they must be getting with out group (group of 50 people)!! LOL

sounds like it is pretty easy to get liquor on. We are leaving on the 27th, is it too late to get the AYCD card?
Posted on 4/15/09 at 4:19 pm to nikinik
Damn 225 though? for a 5 day? We went on a 7 day and brought our own and drank a few specialty drinks and we only had like 80 in drinks on our S&S including a big coconut monkey. We were pretty lit up on most days too and did a booze cruise for good measure...

See above post. You can only do it if you're part of a large group and if every single person agrees it and if if's booked with a travel agent that can do the offer.

I found $225 to be extremely reasonable...but like I said...my drinks were $15 a piece.
I've gone both ways (AYCD and BYOB) and I definitely prefer the AYCD. It's nice not having to go back to the room for a drink and being able to get what I want, when I want
