he was ranging to his right on a relatively routine ground ball in his zone and he completely kicked it into left field

daniel murphy hustles and gets to second base

official scorer ruling: a double

keith hernandez was blown away on the ruling and starting makes jokes about it

ramirez had 22 errors last year but with official scoring like that it makes you wonder how many did he really have

I couldn't believe that one. At the LEAST that's an infield single and an error.

has to be, especially when he gets his FA deal and goes to a big market team as the marlins always do

he was mishandling ground balls and dropping throws all game, they just didnt lead to more bases or he could have had a 3 or 4 error night

new stadium or not, if they don't get asses in the seats he wont be a Marlin in 11/12/13/14

tonight's attendance:

with about 1/2 that actually in the stadium

ya you are right, they would trade him the year before they open a stadium, great logic

Unless he gets fat like Cabrera you can just stick him in center like Tampa did with Upton.

Tell you what...

Call him a defensive liability. Hanley is one of baseball's 10 best players, IMO.

hes not even bad at defense, hes still young and makes some routine errors that change with experience, but he has made some of the best plays i have ever seen

If I'm Hanley Ramirez there's no way I would switch positions. He's easily the best shortstop in the game in terms of offensive numbers, but there's more offensive competition in the outfield.

I think he'll be alright at short. He's no Alex Gonzalez defensively, but like you said he's had some amazing moments. He's certainly no worse than Dan Uggla.

ramirez has decreased his errors each year, and uggla is consistently around 12 which is pretty good

actually somebody did, go read, he said if they dont get asses in the seats he wont be a marlin in 2011...and people dont know the situation, marlins have been in the top 10 in tv ratings for the last 5 years, the fan base is there, the location of the stadium is terrible and its not a baseball stadium
