Quarterbacks are not allowed to be tackled at LSU practices or scrimmages. A touch symbolizes a stop, but at times LSU's defenders have not been able to do that.

He's got great speed and good vision," said safety Chad Jones, who can run a little bit, too. "I'll run right at him. He'll make a great cut back, and I'm like on the other side of the field."
Thats awesome!

I would love to see this guy run some option in a game. That would be pretty scary for a defense, knowing he could decide to pass as well.

Shepard, the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the nation out of Houston, struggled early in spring with his passing. He has a very strong arm, but at times lacks touch. In recent weeks, he improved his throws significantly but has been inconsistent.

. But No. 1 quarterback Jordan Jefferson has started only two games, and he has never played against a good team on the road.
Well this is certainly a stupid statement. I guess if LSU plays a team on the road that is ranked higher then them (i.e. Peach bowl), and they are not considered to be a good team, that would make LSU an even worse team. Stupid statement. JJ played an SEC road game and a higher ranked team in the Peach Bowl, and played well enough to win both of them (if you take the complete collasp of the LSU defense out of the Arkansas game).

Even more B.S. I don't remember anybody heaping praise on these guys, if anything, they were always listed as a big question mark, or even a liability for the offense.
Still, the quarterback position will carry a large question mark into a season for the second straight year. Everyone keeps saying how well Jefferson is playing, but remember, virtually everyone (except me) said the same thing about Jarrett Lee and Andrew Hatch last year.

JJ may be listed as the starter, but in no way are we settled at the QB position.

Good luck to all the QBs. I just hope one comes far out on top. I dont wana have the #1 and #2 QB switching out all the time like JL and AH did at the beginning of last season

They need to just play Jefferson and Shepard at QB and keep Lee in the locker room
I also wouldn't mind seeing Jefferson and Shepard switching out a lot.

RS is going to be a game changer.
Im really waiting to see if he is going to be a real QB tho. He's an extremely talented athlete and all, but can he throw it?

If Eric Berry had the chance, Shepard would be sidelined.
