I am not sure why an Alabama fan is posting on here like he likes LSU. Go your arse to a bama website. You are no more welcome here than the shite I step in when walking around tuscalooser.

Wow, what a douchebag you are.

As for the game, meh. Maybe worth a rent. Looks like too much storyline and not enough killing for my taste.

I like shooters of all kinds, but the tactical ones are usually my favorites in the single player rhealm.

Let's get back to the game. It's supposed to be peppered with real footage of interviews of the guys involved in the firefight. I'm guessing they're sort of going for a Call of Duty feel as far as story and Rainbow Six as far as combat. I think it's a great idea. Lots of urban skirmishes in Middle Eastern towns involve movement to and out of cover as well as teamwork and strategy. I just hope that the code is solid so that it doesn't hit shelves as a wrecked mess as far as tech.

Oh, I amlost forgot: I read on GameSpot.com that almost all the environments will be destructible, sort of like Battlefield: Bad Company. This is a bold idea, especially if they're going to try to incorporate a cover system into a game with destructability.

I saw this posted on 1up's messageboards and people were going insane over it.

I don't get how someone can be so hypocritical to say this war is ongoing/too recent and shouldn't be glamorized in a video game.. but there's nothing wrong with hundreds of games and movies 'glamorizing' World War 1, World War 2, Vietnam, Civil War, etc. War is war, taking place last month or 100 years ago doesn't make it any less horrible.

Agreed. They are making the game. Bitching about it now is doing nothing. Just talk about the game....

With that said....

I was a big fan of 3rd person until CoD. Now I prefer 1st, but this game sounds cool. I will definitely be giving it, at least, a test drive.

For what it's worth, there was a line of games that came out under the name "Clonflict" and it had several subtitled releases, like "Desert Storm," "Desert Storm II," "Vietnam," and "Global Terror."

They were squad-based games based on...well, you guessed it: Desert Storm, Vietnam and today's ongoing fight with terrorists (the terrorists in the final game, "Global Terror," were quasi-Russian, as in Battlefield: Bad Company). It should be noted that all of these games, beside the Vietnam subtitle (because it was horribly linear), were outstanding third-person shooters. If anyone still has the PS2 or original XBOX, get these games and play them. Really, really fun. Oh, and they feature cooperative split-screen campaign for two players.

Anyway, I'm not sensative to today's war being simulated via video game. In fact, I think it's outstanding. It's an experience. That's what video games recreate: the experience. I'll personally be very interested in this game, especially if it's produced well.

your not alone in having been there...but I personally would be happy and proud to see them draw attention to the biggest urban combat battle since Vietnam seeing as not many people know that fact
