hell no, I appreciate what Gerry D started at LSU. Prior to him coming we were a no where team struggling to reach 6-6. Gerry D changed the culture and started the recruiting trend by getting a lot of players what played a crucial roll in Saban's success.
Gerry D made a mistake, he picked up a defensive coordinator and then instead of realizing his error he stuck with the guy which got him and Tepper fired.
Dinardo changed LSU football for fans bringing us some big wins.

i agree. Dinardo markedly improved LSU's recruiting, and proved LSU could mostly play up to the level of Bama/Florida. But failed to consolidate his gains due to hardheadedness. Saban had a much easier task than he would have had in 1995. Jim Donnan was the exact same story at uga.

The irony of Tepper is that he was a damn good recruiter. Thus leaving Saban with some decent talent when he got here.

However....drop lb....can't cover the TE... you know the rest

I think gerry was good for us. He got us back on track and has served as a good history lesson for miles. His stupid move of keeping lou got him fired and caused LSU to have 2 shite years in a row. Les saw this and got rid of the retards

the talent level was there during Dinardo's years with team. the issue was coaching, he let quality assistant coaches leave and replaced them with cheaper, worse assistant's.

Mainly Carl Reese and Morris Watts

It wasn't just tepper... the promotion of McConnel to OC had just as much to do with his demise as tepper.

our o wasn't really the problem though. We had a shot to win most games but lou was busy giving up 500 plus yard games. Its almost like last year. While Lee was killing us he still put the ball in the endzone and had our d not sucked we win 1 or 2 more games.

I believed in Gerry but I am not sad he is gone since Nick led us to greater heights. Gerry D was a hire at the right time for us and produced results right away.

oh yea i dont hate gerry. I hate curly but not gerry. He was a step in the right direction and almost brought us back to where we were when he took over but lucky for us we got rid of him and hired a better coach.

Him getting faulk to stay home turned us around.

Gery started geting fans back in the seats and excited. He had 3 good years and 3 good bowl wins.....he's also a quality person. Things got away from him, but the 5th yr sr's on the 03 nat'l champ team were his recruits and he set the stage for recruits in the next class too. The yrs right before he arrived, you could walk up to the window and buy tickes at game time and lots of seats were empty.

Coach D "brought back the magic" for LSU football, he made a lot of positive changes for us and we are still feeling the effects of his presence. By raising the bar back then, we are enjoying one of the most successful runs of tiger football since the late sixties and early seventies.

I still think gerry's situation was a good learning experience for the les miles era.

you don't "experiement" with the defensive coordinators.
