I'm not starting this thread to talk about steroids. I just watched them on their pro day and damn. These guys are good.

I didn't know Clay Mathews was a walk on safety.

Rey Maulaluga sp? hurt his ankle taped it up and ran a 4.7

Cushing is just a freak.

I'd love for the saints or the boys to draft any of them to see them play often.

Saints would be wise to take one of the SC OLBs to replace Shanle or Jenkins to play free.

eta: Or Percy Harvin

That's another excuse to explain his lack of speed. He had a hamstring "injury" after his first 40 at the combine, too.

i don't think many expected ray ray to be a burner. his 40 is fine/adequate for a big MLB guy

i think he's relatively top heavy, so an NFL S/C program will prolly get his lower body bigger and he'll be fine

ideal for the ILB of a 3-4

Cushlash

Basically he reminds me of a bigger faster Teddy Bruschi. Put him in a 3-4 at OLB and don't be afraid to walk him down. He can even put his hand down if you need him to. He was a 4 year starter at USC. Once a reporter asked him if he cared about rules, and he pissed on his face. True story

I agree with the magic hammy injury at the combine, but those pro day numbers are more than adequate. He just couldn't run another 4.9. He was also able to keep his weight down, which a lot of NFL teams were nervous about

I agree with Slow on that one. Rey has the speed to ply Inside LB. He's an old school football player too. I wish we got to see more USC football games here in Louisiana it was fun watching all that talent on the field.

he actually started 2 years

playing a situation pass rush role is not "starting"

i'm still waiting to hear how he's a freak

6-3, 243 and a 4.7

nothing freakish there

Yeah, I have not problem with him being a 4.8 guy. I think he'll be a solid NFL player; I just wish he would quit pretending injuries to hide his lack of speed.

what's weird is that USC generally don't run amazing anyway (a lot like LSU in that regard), so it's not like there would be stigma against him

a lot of our guys have gotten too big, even though Carlisle says he's all about speed and explosion and doesn't do any traditional lifts. All 3 linebackers in this case and a number of safeties and a bunch of DBs over this time have seemed to have this issue. Rey reportedly played the 2007 rose bowl at 275 pounds

shite, even Joe gained about 15 or 20 pounds of muscle since he's come in, which he probably needed to do, but is going to slow you down

If you start one game you are a starter. I know you just like to argue with people Slow. Your really into numbers and maxes. I'm into football players and this kid is good. I've watched him play he's instinctive, mean, quick, runs ok, has above average hands, wore number 10 (bad arse IMO), tall, powerful, and he's got cool hair.

you called him a freak. he's not

hell his production wasn't ever even that great. he had like 1 really good pass rush year, and that's b/c ALL he did was rush the passer
