I think we will win a lot of games, because we will have a darn good OL. The LT will be No. 70 Ciron Black, 6'5", 315, SR, the RT will be No. 78 Joseph Barksdale, 6'6", 315, JR. The LG will be No. 68 Josh Dworaczyk, 6'6", 290, SO, the RG will be No. 62 Lyle Hitt, 6'2", 284, SR. But the ace in the hold is No. 53 T-Bob Hebert, 6'3", 260, RSFR, people who knows him says he is the real deal.
On T-Bob Herbert...
“T-Bob is really way ahead of his rehabilitation. His leg has got some great strength and he played a lot of snaps today. Mostly passes, but certainly he is getting better.”
Here is the link about the scrimmage:

our o line was better last year

Miles can flat out recruit OL. They are very sought after, and LA does not produce a ton of them, so get good ones from out of state, is not easy.

Isn't center the key position for this line? The quality of play at that position is going to be crucial for this year's team, especially considering that our QBs are still underclassmen with less than one full season of experience.

260 is a major problem against future NFL D-linemen. Reminds me of Rodney Reed getting destroyed at V-Tech

Our o-line is going to be the cause of some frustration at a few points this year.

yea i think so. We have young starters at both Gaurds and Center. And young depth.

I hope Hebert and Dworaczyk bulk up significantly. 290 lbs on a 6'6" frame isn't much and 260 at center isn't going to cut as the long season progresses against SEC defenses.

I hear PJ may beat out t-bob. Miles is really excited about PJ.

I just hope whoever starts at center upholds LSU's tradition for producing top flight centers.

Brett Helms was listed at 260. And he never looked that big.
He was and All-SEC center too.
He was and All-SEC center too.

Four year starter and play a couple of seasons in the NFL. That is REAL PROBLEM.

I totally disagree. Mark Stepnoski was multiple year all-pro for Dallas and Houston and he only weighed about 270 in the NFL.

Why?
Signed,
Todd McClure

I was at the announcement of the recruits when Todd McClure was a signee. He was maybe 6'1 240.
Look what he did at LSU and in the NFL.
If we recruit the "bad-arse" factor, it will pay dividends.

Got this from the roster. 278 isn't huge, but definitely heavier than 260.
I recall Helms being a good center, not a dominant one.

Stepnoski played in the 80's where 270 was considered big for college lineman. I'm sure he wasn't 270 in the NFL in the 90's.

Many said the only reason he was signed was because of his brother. I was no tone of them, I saw him play a # of times in high School, the kid could have played a # of postions on both sides of the ball. Hes still the starter in Atl, no one can beat him out at Center. Best of luck to him. OC, technique comes in to play. You can be a little smaller. Remember a kid names Shannon Robique? Jimbo Fisher once told me that he was never so glad LSU did like him because of his size. I think he started 4 years at the barn.
