i dont mind a player stepping out of bounds instead of taking a hit. Why take a hit when you dont have to?
Comparing him to Reggie is just stupid though. Wells CAN run between the tackle. And he doesn't exactly shy away from contact between the hash marks

both are bruisers, I know Beanie is not as good at blocking or catching, but I think he'll improve those areas will improve if he's in the Saints system
