If you've been, i've got a few questions? We're We're going on Wed. and will first go put down chairs somewhere on the par 3 course as soon as the gates open. Where is the best place to plant our chairs for the day. We're then going to drop some major coin at the merchandise tent, get a locker to put our loot away and then walk the whole course and then just watch some top players practice. Then at 1 head to our chairs. We're also not going in at the main gate because the wait there is too long. Goig to play golf on Thursday on the way back and may play quickly Tuesday on the drive up. If you've got course suggestions, let me know. One of the courses we're going to play is Callaway Gardens 2 hours west of Atlanta (they used to play the Buick Classic there)
Thanks in advance for your advice.

There's a lake where they hit over for the last hole.

Not sure where you are coming from but the Reynolds Plantation courses are top notch in Greensborro, GA. It is about an hour or so from Augusta.

Got a golfball with the Masters logo on it a friend brought me from there. Also have matches and coctail napkins from the last US Open that Payne Stewart won. Its almost like being there.

Sitting on the ground on the side hill on 16 is a great place to spend the day, especially for a practice round, when some of the players have a pool for closest to the pin skipping across the pond.
You can pick a group to follow early and then stop on 16 when they get there and stay. You can't really get close to Amen Corner.
The tournament is much better viewed from home, but the practice rounds are great. If you can get on the sister course Palmetto in Aiken, give it a try, but you probably need to know a member.
I played it on a Monday once, and there were guys practicing for the tournament that didn't want to deal with the crowds. The greens are that good. It's the closest to Augusta I will ever get. The clubhouse is the second oldest in the country to Shinnecock.

You can bring cameras during the practice rounds.

You can have cameras for the practice rounds. I got a picture with Tiger and O'Meara in '98, when O'Meara ended up winning.
