Brown to Tenn - Net positive for LSU

Negatives
1)We lose a legit talent that could be special at the next level. No question he is a strong back, with the potential to be very special.
2) We have to play against Tenn twice while BB is at UT, and he will be a player
Positives
1) Ford, who is likely just as special, and is a home LA product, will join Ridley and Murphy as the 3 backs most likely to take over after Scott and KW ext campus
2) Brown could very well turn into a RP-like risk at another program, not at LSU (and HE IS a risk, expecially when you combine the rule-bending culture of Kiffin and Orgeron)
3) Seastrunk and the other special backs are MUCH more likely to give LSU strong consideration to join the 2010 recruiting class
4) Tennesse plays Alabama EVERY year, so this hurts Alabama, thereby creating a higher chance of LSU winnning the SEC West.
I legitimately would have welcmomed him because he is talented and because he would have been a Tiger, but I can honestly say I am more pleased he went to UT.
Geaux Ford an geaux Tigers !!

Either one or both of these statements are retarded, you pick.

Tenn was a good fit for him. He will get an offense tailored to him. No way he would get that at LSU. Not a matter of who out recruited who. Brown will be the man at Tenn next year, at LSU, he probably wouldn't even start, and he would have to share his carries with a varied offense that will include Sheppard. We have arguably the best class in the nation. You simply can't get them all.

There needs to be an IQ test with a minimum score as a prerequisite for posting on the RB.

remember, we didn't pursue this guy, he came to look at us, and very late at that. Also, he comes off as a little nutty. Maybe he would have been a great asset, probably so. But I never thought he was coming here and won't lose any sleep.

Given the recruiting saga, and the impression he left with current members of the team during his recruiting visit, the kid is unfortunately cocky at best and irretrievably self absorbed at worst. We really did not pursue the kid after his visit, that says all I need to know about the kid.

Unless post-edited, most of you are misquoting. I think the RocketScientist accurately expressed the sentiments of many Tiger fans on Bryce Brown.

stopped reading here.
I know you meant lose, but my point is WE DIDN'T LOSE ANYTHING...he only considered us because of what Arthur told him. He was never ours.

bwallcubfan - no need to make too much of this. I think he was just trying to say in so many words that Bryce Brown ain't coming to LSU.

Do we really need to explain that to you?

Brown might not be a trouble maker or have run ins with the law. But he will be a distraction. Anyone ever heard of T.O.??? His entire recruitment was a circus. Anyone think there might be a reason Miami and Oregon pulled his scholly? Or that it didnt seem like the staff was overly concerned about getting him? "If he comes good, if not oh well." Attention whore. Tennessee can keep him.

If we land Reed and Seastrunk by virtue of not landing Brown, then it's a huge positive. But it certainly ups the ante regarding recruitment of Seastrunk.

You guys hauled in one helluva class this year. You should be proud of the job that Les and the other coaches did. Tennessee needed BB MUCH worse than LSU did. Once again, your Tigers will be in the SECCG with all of the talent that they have so there should be no worries. Some of you guys visited over on volnation.com and, for the most part, kept it classy and I just wanted to reciprocate. Good luck all and Geaux Tigers!

I really don't see how we were in the mix for him. He wanted to play right away and that could not happen at LSU there's too many talented guys in front of him.
That said, what ever happened to Special K being stupid enough to say Brown's name on the radio??
