"If every team in the league has three arms as good as those it’s going to be a long year."

On Paxton (the game 1 starter) and All-SEC Rusin (the game 2 starter): "One thing we do know about Kentucky, is that they have two really outstanding left-handed pitchers going on Friday and Saturday, Chris Rusin and James Paxton. Last year, Rusin really pitched a great game against us and we somehow figured out a way to win the game. Paxton must have been hurt last year, because they took him out of the ball game in the first inning."

On All-SEC Rusin (the game 2 starter): "We’ve faced Rusin three years in a row. And he’s pitched great against us three years in a row. I have so much respect for that kid. The way he pitches and his demeanor on the mound are outstanding."

On Meyer (the game 3 starter): "He looked like he was throwing the ball 100 mph"

What SEC team do you think has a better starting rotation of pitchers than Kentucky?

So LSU has a better rotation of starting pitchers than Kentucky, and when Mainieri says...

"If every team in the league has three arms as good as those it’s going to be a long year"

...he is saying that it is going to be really tough for our hitters when we face UF, UGA, Vandy, Ole Miss, and Arkansas?

If you consider Coleman a starter then LSU is top 3 in the SEC in starting pitching. Problem is most of the time he wont be starting, so I would drop us down a little but not much.

I think we are going to see Matulis next Sunday possibly if Coleman has already been used. So thats Ranaudo, Ross, and Matulis with Coleman available as well. Thats pretty darn good imo. But we'll see what happens with Sunday's spot.

Yeah, Florida just got swept by Arkansas, 11-4, 8-4, 4-2.

As for those three UK starters LSU faced, the only time Kentucky has lost with them this season (other than to LSU) was when Rusin gave up 4 runs in 4+ innings to Coastal Carolina.

I don't know about ya'll, but I feel pretty damn good about taking 2 of 3 from a Kentucky team that will prob finish in the Top 3 in the SEC East. And that's a strong statement with Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina right there.

Do any of those have an overall rotation as good as UK? I know we, Florida and UGA don't just by looking at the first 3.

Got anything to back those up? Also, do you really believe LSU's starting Rotation is better than UKs? Please tell me who we have better than Meier and Rusin.

Its surprising that Meyer wasn't drafted higher last year. I know the draft is a strange thing, but a tall lefty that throws hard is not easy to find.
