That win over Xavier tells me these guys can play. But then they lost to UW Milwaukee after beating them by 30 a few weeks earlier.

Too bad the Tigers played so poorly over the last couple of weeks. We would have gotten a better seed. That Vanderbilt loss on Sr. night really hurt. Hope Trent can get them fired up.

If we beat Butler, it will be hell playing UNC in Greensboro. It's like a home court fot them. I saw them play Illinois there several years ago in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Great venue for NCAA tourney.

we score about 8 pts. more a game than them, but they give up about 8 pts less. I think this game will be taken over by Tasmin Mitchell down low. No tall guys to block his shot. I can see Tasmin guarding the 230lb'er.

I don't see anyone that can match up with 6'10 170.

They beat X and UAB....THAT IS IT...why is this team a 9 SEED? With their talest player at 6-8...we get a break...better than playing VCU or even Clev St or a BCS conf school like USC or Ok St!

This is pretty accurate. There will be limited possessions, a game in the 50s, imo. We will need to run these guys off the three point line and limit the mental lapses on defense. They will make us play defense for 20-25 secs per possesion, team defense is a must! We must be patient on offense. Think Washington State, very similar styles.

I live in Indianapolis, which is where Butler is located, and I have watched this team play all year. I sort of adopted them as my second team
(behind LSU of course) which makes this matchup suck all the more for me. They have a 6' 8" freshman named Gordon Hayward who just 10 months ago was taking our local High School team to the state championships and won it on a buzzer beater.

As far as a scouting report goes, they run an extremely efficient offense rooted in fundamentals that is rarely used on any level of basketball anymore--very little one on one. The primary objective is to swing pass the ball around the arc with one touch passes. There isn't much dribbling involved so the defense has to keep their head on a swivel. If they get an open look they shoot the three at a very high percentage. They stay very much true to their Hoosier roots--literally and figuratively. They play in Hinkle Field House which is where the real life Hoosiers story was played out and subsequently filmed.

The kid Gordan Heyward lives in my neighborhood and reminds me a lot of Eddie Ludwig who I hope we see similar results from. Nobody really recruited him that much but he just has that Larry Birdish quality. Being 6'8" he can shoot the three right over the top of you so whoever guards him will have their work cutout.

Their toughest matchup for us might be Matt Howard. He's 6'10" but is a real scrappy kid. He outworks everybody in the games that I have seen. Lots of offensive rebounds and putbacks. Chris Johnson will have to fight Howard for everything.

I would say that our best advantage would be our athleticism. Butler isn't the fastest or strongest team(outside Howard) so if we can keep the game up tempo then that may play in our favor.
