Just watched it again for the first time in about 7 years. Great freaking movie. I forgot how intense and sad it was. Incredible cast too. It was like watching it again for the first time.

It was too long and didn't focus on the attack enough. I think the movie should have been more about the attack on Pearl Harbor and less of the love triangle. They spent like 20 minutes on the attack

I thought it was good enough BeachDude. Don't let these frickers bring you down. And I also watched a few minutes of it tonight, it's by no means the worst movie ever made like so many of it's critics insist.

You forgot the best friend knocking up the girl, and the original guy taking care of him and naming him after the best friend

That was the whole point. The reason the movie got made in the first place was to give the attack on PH the Titanic treatment.

If you want to see a good drama about Pearl Harbor watch From Here To Eternity, either the Oscar-winning movie or the later TV miniseries (one of the best miniseries ever, along with Lonesome Dove).

Tora Tora Tora The battle sequence kinda sucks due to special effects not being what they are now, but still a good movie told from both sides.

The producers just wanted to take advantage of the sentimentality of the attack. Yet there is hardly 20 minutes of anything remotely related to the actual events surrounding Pearl Harbor. They could have transplanted the same storyline to the War of the Roses and there would have been no difference. At least the Titanic (which I cant stand) had a love story attached to the sinking of the ship. How about this - maybe the producers of Cold Mountain should've renamed it Civil War.

Wow. I can honestly say that I've never heard this movie receive a critique like that. I thought it blew incredibly hard...I tried watching it a few weeks back when it came on T.V. and I literally couldn't even get through more than about 15 minutes of it before I had had enough.

I always liked it but the love story brought it down.

Most people hate the movie to death. Not going to find too many people that can tolerate it.

Anyone who likes this movie has terrible taste.

It is horrid piece of fluff that completely and utterly misses the point.

the Titanic treatment
I've always thought this. I've never understood how Titanic was so great and Oscar worthy but PH is a piece of crap. They are like the same damn movie.

P.S. I like Pearl Harbor.
